The fact that Ty Simpson waited three years to get the starting job really does amaze me. It will probably keep us in contention for several years.

I am guessing that last season he knew that he was the top QB on the squad, but he stayed quiet and supportive. If he continues to play the way he has thus far he will be a first round draft choice if he decides to declare in 2026.

If Simpson does declare, Keelon Russell will more than likely stay. His future looks bright, amd so will ours. If Simpson stays, one can only imagine how good he will be. Either way it looks great.

Now, it's time to step all over Vandy!

Nice thread. We are blessed to have a kid of his caliber stay and represent at the Capstone through the past couple of years. He is definitely a strength on the team as long as he keeps seeing the field and distributes to the playmakers. Sustained drives will benefit the entire team especially the D so I am thrilled to watch the rest of the season unfold with him leading us.

I hope how Ty handled his situation rubs off on other quarterbacks that come to Alabama. Sometimes sitting and learning isn't the worst thing in the world. A lot of these guys are so quick to jump ship, not realizing that just because they're changing schools doesn't mean they're any more prepared to play than they were at the school they just left. Now granted, I personally think Ty was prepared to play last year but that's a different story that doesn't need to be rehashed.

That's why I hope if Ty decides to not go pro that he'll come back and Russell will decide to wait it out for his turn. Older quarterbacks just seem to do better.

That is kind of against the ethos in these times but I share your hope..

Honestly, I hope tons of players around the country see the lesson here, not just at Alabama. College football would so much better off without the portal having thousands of players.
