Re: Tyler Love to talk to coach, announcement could come this weekend

It is just a popular place to go to college in Mountain Brook. I think it has to do with it considered being one of the better public universities and you still get big time SEC athletics as well as a fun college town in Athens. Look, I didn't go to Georgia so I am not defending them, but just giving my opinion on why it is popular in Mountain Brook. I still personally believe that he will choose Alabama tomorrow.
I didn't want to give you the impression I was coming down on you. I just found it odd that kids at one particular school would like an out of state college. Thanks for the info.

If you lose:

1. A 5-star-rated player who lives 30 miles from campus

2. Who grew up following and cheering for your school's football team

3. whose parents both graduated from your school and also follow and root for the football team

4. when you have top fan support, great facilities and wonderful campus atmosphere

Then, your football staff and head coach aren't nearly the top notch recruiters they are reputed to be.

I think Tyler is headed to Tuscaloosa.

give me a break. believe it or not, sometimes a player does what is best for himself, regardless of what mommy or daddy think. sometimes the kid wants to get away, and sometimes they are stupid and go to the same college as a girlfriend. none of these reasons have ANYTHING to do with the level of coaching. maybe some of you guys would consider this blasphemy, but even coach bryant lost recruits to other schools. i'm really not trying to be condescending here, but saying that ONE PLAYER'S decision to go to college elsewhere, especially considering the fact that georgia has been in the top 25 every year for the last 10 years and we're coming off a losing season. come on, now. you can't brainwash a 17 year old kid to do whatever you want.

Re: Tyler Love to announce Friday at 6 PM

Please correct me if I am wrong but from what I understand
Tyler's Mother and Dad graduated from the University Of Alabama and he also grew up a very big Alabama fan.

There is no doubt in my mind that Tylers Mother and Dad will play a very special part in where he goes to college and where he will play college football.

I truly believe that familys are suppost stick together and when you start something you need to finish it the right way and that way would be for Tyler to honor is Mother and Dad by going to college and playing football for the school that his Mother and Dad graduated from and that would be the
University Of Alabama.;)

Re: Tyler Love to announce Friday at 6 PM

moo? yeah, i guess since i'm a 21 year old bama student from huntsville who's spent a total of over $20,000 on tuition and living expenses, including the required $300 for dining dollars, never once sold a student ticket, and attended every bama home game since i've been there, i'd have to be an auburn fan, right??? all i was saying, is that georgia wouldn't be the worst choice for him. "great minds don't think alike, great minds think for themselves." i don't expect my children to go to bama just because i did. either way, this thread is about tyler love, and he's bama bound. Expect a flurry of commitments within the next 2 weeks as well.
HAHA that was awesome. I always love it when the people that make the "moo" comments get put in their place.

From a former "Brookie" myself, I can tell you the perception of a decision to stay in-state is some times seen as a lesser option. When I graduated (approaching 20 years ago now) there were as many kids going out of state as there were in, and about 15% of my graduating class went Ivy.

Even I went out initially (Missouri) but soon learned the error of my ways.

But I did stay long enough to learn that the line "Midwest farmers' daughters really make you feel alright."

Why would Mountain Brook kids love Georgia? I'm sorry, I have to ask.
Two words...........Widespread Panic. LOL.

The world's greatest jam band lives (and performs alot) in Athens. But that's not reason enough to spurn the Tide. The world's greatest football program lives and performs in Tuscaloosa.

Yes, kids can choose schools for all sorts of reasons and one player doesn't necessarily provide an accurate indicator of a coaching staff's recruiting ability.

However, when you consider all circumstances surrounding Tyler Love and UA, you would certainly believe that he is Bama bound. His parents will certainly want to see him play and they graduated from and follow the Crimson Tide. There are others to consider besides the student-athlete and Love seems like the type that wouldn't want to drag his parents 200 miles from B'ham to Athens when the Tide plays 30 miles away.

Its just my opinion, but if you're a solid recruiter, which all of Bama's staff are reputed to be, and you have proximity, historical allegiance and alumni parents, this is about as advantage as you'll ever get.

I would be surprised if he isn't headed to Tuscaloosa. RTR.

Re: Tyler Love to announce Friday at 6 PM

I hate when people say that someone is a "lock" or "xxxxxxx to Bama. Book it", but, Tyler Love IS a lock and you CAN book it.

His parents are Bama fans, he is making a public announcement at his high school in Birmingham in July for crying out loud. I am not sure how anyone can be nervous about this one.

If you are nervous about what a guy Love is going to do, you may want to consider checking into getting some heavy meds for the week leading up to National Signing Day because there will be some much more nail-biting decisions than this one.

Re: Tyler Love to announce Friday at 6 PM

Are there any good Georgia forums out there? I googled for about 10 minutes yesterday, but apparently wasn't using the right words, because I found about 4 boards that hadn't been posted to since Auburn shared their last NC.

I'm curious to know what the UGA folks are saying about Love's announcement.
