ugly, ugly uniforms

whats with all these ugly uniforms. South Carolina's and Arkansas look similar and ugly as sin! Bama, please don't change! Bama and Auburn so far are staying with what has been a mainstay for years.
Coming out in a different unis hasn't really intimidated the opponents as far as I can tell.Hate colored pants.....

No. Not on football uniforms. Not in college football or NFL. My mother is a breast cancer survivor (twice) and my father died of cancer. Seeing football players wearing pink does not alter my opinion of cancer. I don't need to see ugly uniforms to be reminded of the cause.

If Bama did the pink gloves, pink shoes thing it wouldn't really bother me. Just don't change jersey, helmet, and pants. I liked our pro combat uniforms from 2010 though.

It probably leads to a small increase in merchandise sales for some teams. When it comes to most updated uniforms, I'm way outside that demographic. However, a major reason that I read and hear when these new "outfits" are discussed is that recruits factor in uniform style as they decide on a school. I can't imagine some of these looks being considered a positive, but again, I'm not 17 years old. Frankly, if the uniform color and style are important, then I don't see how any school that wears orange is able to field a team.

Well said. Never saw an orange that looked good. Hate all of them. Which reminds me, years ago, Auburn people worn blue, and then they changed to orange---never understood that. The change to orange was during TT tenure, I think. The fans not the team

I liked USCe uniforms. They look intimidating, and that can only help your chances. They looked better than the ugly uniforms they have been wearing. The only thing I would change would be the camo look on the pants. I would make it a solid shade of gray.

South carolina's werent that bad to me. They were, at least, better than a lot of the one game uniforms that a lot of schools have worn.

Correct, Under Armor has them do this once a year. I'm fine for one game with proceeds going to a worthy charity. Would not want unis changing every week (aka Oregon).

The Barners and the Dawgs came out with the ugly uniforms in the late 70's. I remember ABC coming on with an update from the Georgia/AU game in 1978 and I couldn't figure out what in the world was going on. I thought they were showing highlights from the wrong game. Georgia had white jerseys and red pants, and AU was wearing orange jerseys with their white pants. This was during the Barfield era, and was obviously one of his last ditch ploys to inspire his team. I've gotta tell you, if you don't have the players and they're not being coached up, there ain't no ugly uniform that's gonna help them win a game. There's nothing like the great tradition we have at Bama. I love the Alabama uniform. Roll Tide!!!

If I wanted to see grey uniforms I'd watch on a black and white TV. I don't care if wearing those unis was going to cure cancer, bring world peace, invent stable cold fusion, and cure the common cold grey and cammo grey should never have been worn. Uggghhhhh!

I think the charity would have come out better, if the company had simply donated an equivalent amount of the development money directly to the charity. But we all know that that's not what it really was all about, don't we? I've always felt that the guys who develop clothes for women on TV and movies and in fashion are really not, um, woman-friendly, some of the clothes are so ugly. Wonder what the people look like who put football players in these Halloween costumes?

the change I would make would be to can the whole uniform...looks like they didn't intimidate the tigers..my opinion

Another week, another "Ugly Uniform," thread....

And yeah, USCe's were pretty terrible. For all the talk of how bad Nike Pro Combat Uni's can be, no one can touch what Under Armor does. Their special jersey's for Maryland and South Carolina have been disasters.
