Urban Meyer and potential NCAA violation

Oh, what a tangled web we weave when at first we start to deceive...
Andy Griffith

Actually, Sir Walter Scott said that. Andy was a very well read man.

He had some other good ones...

“One hour of life, crowded to the full with glorious action, and filled with noble risks, is worth whole years of those mean observances of paltry decorum, in which men steal through existence, like sluggish waters through a marsh, without either honor or observation.”

“I can give you a six-word formula for success: "Think things through - then follow through”

“Teach you children poetry; it opens the mind, lends grace to wisdom and makes the heroic virtues hereditary.”

He's one of my favorites.

Well, I'm having a tough time finding a problem with the recruiting from an NCAA standpoint from a football perspective. If anything it would be illegal recruiting for the gymnastics team and it doesn't matter who Urban is employed by...this would be akin to having a famous Bama football player recruit for the gymnastics team. Illegal yes but only for gymnastics. I am fairly certain that the most that the football team would get is a minor slap on the wrist and a stern talk with Urban about getting involved in other aspects of recruiting.

This is third different story of Urbans creative recruiting tactics I've heard in the past two weeks. Sooner or later, it's gonna jump up and bite him in the butt.

Naaaaaaaah, the NCAAzis will just change the rules to "accomodate" their special children - USCwest, UF, Notre Dang, Meeeshigan, etc.

Not Jewish? Urban "Golda" Meyer. Your kiddin!;)

Of course, Urban didn't invent EVERYTHING. In fact he comes from a family of inventors. One day while on the football field he got real hungry but didn't have time to sit down for a full meal. He just wanted something quick and easy to eat. So he called his uncle Oscar, who as we all know was also an inventor in his own right.
