USC v Stanford, anyone paying attention?

Commentator just said that Stanford beating USC would be an even bigger upset than Appalachian State over Michigan earlier this year. Let me remind you this is a game between two teams from the SAME CONFERENCE. Why do analysts try to sell USC as the greatest football team of all time EVERY year? It blows my mind.

I see your point, but Stanford has been freaking horrible over the past couple of years so it would be a pretty big upset.

Who else thinks the 12th man on the field may have been intentional on Harbaugh's part? It was coming out of a timeout, after all. If the refs don't catch it, you get a play with an extra man. If they do catch it, you get a little extra room to run the fade (successfully, as it turns out). Harbaugh didn't look all that upset when the penalty was called. Maybe an attempt to get away with one there?
