UT gets commitment from QB Tyler Bray

Came here to post this :)

He has a slow 40 and is skinny. I think a college weight program will take care of him being skinny. I don't think Peyton Manning set the world on fire with his 40 time, so hopefully Bray can make good decision and won't have to depend on his legs for much.

A couple of quotes from Bray after his visit Saturday:

"SEC is the big powerhouse for football," Bray said. "Tennessee football is religion. You can't really beat that. It was all fun. It was crazy. I don't think I could pick one highlight (from his weekend visit to the Vols' opener). If I had to pick one it would be watching the team run through the 'T.' Seeing coach (Ed) Orgeron getting the team pumped up gave me chills. It was awesome."
"The fans," Bray said. "The people eat, breath, and sleep football at Tennessee. That's the way I am and that's what I want to be around.
"It's big," Bray said of becoming a mid-term enrollee. "The biggest thing is getting big enough to play right away and learning the offense. The SEC is all about big hits and I'm at 200 (pounds), but I want to get to 220 by next fall. I'm trying to get that big this fall, but definitely by next fall."

His Dad stayed in Knoxville on Sunday to look at possibly moving the family here after Tyler graduates HS.

He said his parents were in shock after seeing football in the south, he said it was a religion here. I think we can nearly all agree on that. We are nuts about our football teams in the south.

Says he is going to do whatever he can to help with recruiting for the 2010 class.

WOW!! I'm gonna commit as well! I had no idea! :eek2:

So San Diego State was basically unable to compete with the real big orange? Things are looking up indeed. :biggrin2: Next you'll be snatching away UNLV commits. There's no stopping yewtee!! ;)

Seriously, I'm glad you finally got a QB.

So, I wonder what type of job Mr. Bray will be offered in Knoxville for the next 4 or 5 years? Hmmmm.

Good pickup for UT and a position they desperately needed. I think this commitment has been whispered about for a while, so not surprised to see it.
You are right. I think most everyone thought once the staff got him on campus that he would be overwhelmed...and he seems to have been.

What can I say? I like this board and most folks on here are pretty cool. It's tough to be a jerk to cool people.

Heh, I'm sure you're up to the task. :)

And like BamaSoldier mentioned, no aubs-(goobs) here. I believe we're usually referred to as "Bammars, Gumps, etc.. zzzzzzzzzzz...
