If you go to Tigerrant.com and scroll down a little, you will see the question, "Where can I find the link to the video of Les Miles and the Big Cat Drill?" The link is supplied about four posts down.

It is a frightening thing. Very physical. Has some of the posters all fired up. Also, their spring game is supposed to feature this drill.

Unless Les is forced to manage the drill with two minutes or less on the clock, I'm not worried.

I could be wrong(wouldnt be the first time),but isnt the old "bull ring" drill or is this something new?

Pretty sure I have seen our D-linemen doing this pre-game on occasion. THis was also a common dorm-room sport among Cody and Chapman.

I would pay to watch that sumo match

As for the drill, I see a lot of players standing around watching. Seems to me to be a waste of valuable practice time.

Here's the LINK.

And I agree about it being a waste. He must be following the RichRod practice schedule if he can afford to spare that much time for 1-on-1 grappling.

Unless Miles uses the Rich Rod method of keeping up with practice, there's a lot of wasted time with players standing around and watching. Oh wait, Miles has his own way of keeping time.

This is an Oklahoma drill.

Bull in the ring is where one player gets in the middle of the circle and the coach calls a number. Guy in the middle has to pivot and find the guy coming at him and they collide. The coach may call out several numbers for one guy and he gets pummeled.

Oklahoma goes on at every football practice in America. Miles does not seem to do a lot of correcting mistakes in this video.

You are correct about bull in the ring, but i thought Oklahoma is when both players lay on there back, one has the ball, both jump up on the whistle, the one player tries to tackle the man with the ball. We set up dummies five yards apart (wide) i think and less then ten yards long.
This to me looks like a blocking drill with a mad man screaming wooooo.

Anyone notice Loston getting manhandled by Randle? Early prediction for this year's contest is pointing towards a beating for the purple people. Just keep the play away from Peterson and we should do just fine down there on a Saturday night in Tiger Stadium.

I just spend 3 minutes of my life that I wont get back. I watched 3 players. Was that supposed to pump up the LSU fan base by showing how loud the Hat can yell. He had the count wrong on the 2 round. And now I am posting about the idiot. We should all hope they keep him at LSU. It was only under Saban and our NCAA penalties that the beat had a winning streak against us.
