OK, so what happened to Paul Johnson?

According to the website, the voting that we did over the last several weeks was from the total population of NCAA coaches from all division. That was the first round of voting. From that vote the top 25 coaches were selected. Of the top 25, there were 10 from Div 1A and 5 each for Div 1AA, Div II and Div III.

Saban did an outstanding job but Paul Johnson should get this award....

So Saban takes a team from 7-6 picked to finish 3rd-4th in the west to finishing possibly that high nationally and 12-1 losing to the possible national champs in a close game in the SECCG.... and to a BCS bowl.

Paul Johnson takes a 7-6 team picked about the same in their division to the chik-fil-a bowl... and they didn't win their division.


I mean... don't get me wrong CPJ did a GREAT job this year and deserves a lot of credit, but I dont see how you could compare the two. This was a special year for Alabama. we were legit national title contenders and were a quarter away from heading into the NCG the number 1 team in america.
