This will conclude the non playoff NY6 bowls. Honestly this is the one matchup you are like “This is why I hate bowl season”. It’s one of those in which you are really cheering for the underdog to just do something.

I think Oregon beats the tar out of them.

The irony of Liberty University playing in a New Year’s Day bowl is that the two state schools - UVa and VaTech - are at home today. Virginia is in horrible shape and has probably the worst athletic director in the nation. Tech thinks it is on the verge of rebuilding but without recruiting, it is stuck in the middle of an irrelevant conference. Meanwhile, Liberty and James Madison University are building programs, with Liberty having a ton of money. While Liberty will probably get plastered, the publicity will surpass any embarrassment. The football college landscape in Virginia is changing!

Liberty's best hope is that Oregon reacts to this game the way Oklahoma did to having to play Boise in the Fiesta or how Alabama having to play Utah in the Sugar after losing to the Tebow-led Gators: "Aw shucks, all we et to play for is this useless bowl game."
Not likely, but that is their best chance.
