This morning Matt & Jay were discussing the case being mostly thrown out and made a comment along the lines of, "I think most of the fans want somebody to pay, they want retribution."
Well, I honestly believe we are getting retribution and will be for the next several months. What was it that Fulmer and the others wanted so badly? They wanted Alabama to stop getting such good recruits and to stop having winning football teams. They did everything in their power to ensure that that would happen. Yet, look at Alabama football right now.
Just over three years after the most devastating penalties handed down in NCAA history (short of the death penalty), Alabama is still getting top 20 recruiting classes and is ranked in the top 25 in most preseason polls.
The team is poised to have an outstanding season. Folks, that is retribution. Two wins verses Tennessee out of the four years Alabama deals with penalties would have to burn Fulmer's doughnuts.
I'm telling you, if we have an 8, 9, or 10 win season I will be satisfied with that retribution. If we were to win the SEC championship, that would definitely be sweet revenge. Add to that another sub-expectation season for Fulmer and his being replaced at head coach and you have the best revenge one could hope for.
As for now, I am satisfied with Alabama thriving despite the worst disadvantages they could be given.
