Want Retribution? You'll Get It

This morning Matt & Jay were discussing the case being mostly thrown out and made a comment along the lines of, "I think most of the fans want somebody to pay, they want retribution."

Well, I honestly believe we are getting retribution and will be for the next several months. What was it that Fulmer and the others wanted so badly? They wanted Alabama to stop getting such good recruits and to stop having winning football teams. They did everything in their power to ensure that that would happen. Yet, look at Alabama football right now.

Just over three years after the most devastating penalties handed down in NCAA history (short of the death penalty), Alabama is still getting top 20 recruiting classes and is ranked in the top 25 in most preseason polls.

The team is poised to have an outstanding season. Folks, that is retribution. Two wins verses Tennessee out of the four years Alabama deals with penalties would have to burn Fulmer's doughnuts.

I'm telling you, if we have an 8, 9, or 10 win season I will be satisfied with that retribution. If we were to win the SEC championship, that would definitely be sweet revenge. Add to that another sub-expectation season for Fulmer and his being replaced at head coach and you have the best revenge one could hope for.

As for now, I am satisfied with Alabama thriving despite the worst disadvantages they could be given.

The only retribution I care about is winning football games. Losing as many as we have to UT is not acceptable. If we were still beating them like we did for 11 straight years, I don't think so many people would be so focused on what Fulmer said or did. But even if we beat UT the next 5 years, I can't imagine him leaving UT any time soon. He'll be there as long as he wants to.

Great Post RazedRite! I couldn't agree more!

The only thing sweeter would be Bama beating UT twice this season...once during the regular season and then for the SEC Championship! Phat Phil would likely have a heart attack right there on the spot!

your right, the longer they have enjoyed their ill gotten dominance over us, the harder its going to be when the clock strikes zero and they are on the wrong end of a score. I'm not nostradamus, so I don't know when that will be, but I know it will happen.

All the Tennessee, Auburn, and LSU fans I have spoken too haven't even concidered the possiblity of dropping the Alabama game, when they look at the schedule they just automatically put down a W as if we are Vandy or something, but one day that logic will fail them, and boy will it hurt. They will wake up the next morning and think "was that a dream? or did we really lose to Alabama?" then that sickening feeling will come over them, the same feeling we have been living with for 2 years.

Oh, they don't all think that way. The informed SEC fans I've talked to know very well that Alabama's defense will be excellent, and if Croyle is healthy, they will have a very tough fight on their hands. There may be some fans that want to pretend we're an easy win, but the teams that will play us this year know it's gonna be a war. We are respected. I promise you that.

Retribution 14-0

I am looking for the entire Nation to look and say what will it take to stop Alabama from dominating the SEC once again. The answer is NOTHING. The NCAA failed, PhatPhil failed, Roy Adams, and Culpepper all failed to stop Alabama from winning. Now that's the retribution I expect to see. I do not want a 8 or 9 win season. I expect 10 wins or better every year and a shot at the National Championship Title. Let the Tide Run for the Roses this year. That will be Alabama's Retribution.

A member of this forum ask if we would see Tennessee and all those who lied to bring down the Tide see retribution. Yes in many forms.

The NCAA will have to follow Due Process and does not want anything to do with a case like this again. Secret Witnesses who lied and are now afraid to cross the state line will be made public from now on.
The SEC will no longer turn a blind eye as did Kramer. His kind are long gone.
The SEC and NCAA can no longer hide information from Alabama.
The NCAA has seen Congress, Law suit after Law suit. This is what happens when you do not have your act together. Compounding matters with hearsay and lies takes an incrediable effort to protect the guility. Just look at everything that has taken place and the money spent to protect the guility. This is part of the Retribution.
Just look at the State of the Union at Tennessee with all the arrest of its Football players and no one to protect them anymore. Time is running out for excuses in Knoxville.

Who in their right mind would put their schools and coaches through this mess again. Phil wishes everyday he had not became a rat (secret witness). He almost died when everyone found out he was the rat. The NCAA can't pull their crap again. Fulmer is now marked as a RAT with SEC coaches. All coaches know he is not trustworthy.

The best thing about all this is Spurrier is back and so is Alabama. I Love Retribution.

i'm guessing you mistakinly slandered kenny king? don't you mean (white) kenny smith??

also, where is logan young in your list. he may not have paid 200K or whatever amount, but i can bet that without him being on the face of this earth, UA wouldn't be in the predicament that it's in. he was just a braggart drunk who did more harm that good. imo at least.

They might not all look at the schedule and see our game as a Vandy game but the majority (the "informed" and the "uninformed") think they'll win the game and should win the game. I live in LA and it is starting to get that time of year where the local news begins carrying more college football. Which spurns "football talk" among the sports fans.

I don't know what the "informed people" from teams other than LSU are saying but I know here in tiger country Bama football has been reduced to that of a team that is middle of the pack at best and will be that way for some time. Simply because they (the LSU fans) believe they have sworms of talent and a coach that will come in and not miss a beat from what Saban left. They expect to be "good" for a long time.

Bama has a lot to prove. When we start beating SEC teams with winning records then you'll start seeing heads truly turn. But until then we're not taken as serious as some may have portrayed to your face. Winning is what makes others take your program serious.

Oh you have to be kidding me. Excuse me while I go in the bathroom and vomit. LSU???!!?!!? Do they forget where LSWho was before Nick Saban? They were the equivalent of an Ole Miss at best. LSU has not history of real success. They may be a flash in the pan. How quickly people forget the past. Bama was one of the top three programs in the SEC throughout the 90's with Florida and Tennessee. It has not been that long ago that Bama was an elite program, or that LSU was LSWho.

I agree lets get our revenge out on the field. I think ol Phil is sweating bullets about BAMA returning, Spurrier turning Carolina around and what Urban Meyer will do at Florida, not to mention Georgia. The Viles could end up being middle of the pack in the East and I for one would enjoy it. :biggrin2:

That might be true. If the Vols cannot win a national title this year or win the SEC title this year, they may never have a good chance to ever do it again under Fulmer. While Fulmer overachieved the last two seasons, it still looks to be that the UT program has hit a glass ceiling. They recruit loads of talent year in and out, but Fulmer still manages to lose at least 2 games a year and one that he shouldn't.

Georgia is rebuilding this year but don't count them out of if DJ Shockley developes as a QB. UT beat UGA with a freshmen on the road last year afterall. UGA could do the same at UT. Then Meyer comes in at FL and Spuirrer at USC. UGA and UT were hurt most by the arrival of those coaches.

GoBama#1,

You are correct, until Saban showed up the LSU program was in bad shape. A couple of wins over the Tide and everyone is jumping ship. The real facts are this. Alabama is back and for all those who can not see it, that is sad indeed. One poster said we are a middle of the pack team. Not on your life. We are Alabama and the Tide will win accordingly. ;)

I am late getting into this argument late; but if Phatlock gets fired I will be drunk for the week.
And Lswho hired a guy who didn't really recruit this year.
Good luck Yankee!
Welcome to Football in the south Pinhead.
I love the people who think a Coaching change is the way, Yeah that will make ya better.
Ask Ron Zook while he checks your reciept at Walmart.

The privledge of living in Tennessee....the day YooTee fires Phatlock I stick both Bama Flags on my car, with a few shakers and stick my Alabama football CD in the CD player and drive through the town blasting "Yea Alabama" and Rammer Jammer from my car with the windows down.

GoBama#1,

You would not just have happened to move into a new house in Cleveland would you? If you what you said happens then I will buy some flags to put on my car in Kingsport and join you in a ride around town playing "Yeah Alabama".

Here is hoping it happens and soon. :)
