sorry if this is already a thread, i tried the search function and didn't see anything.

anyone know if/how i can watch the game online?

I'd recommend investing in a slingbox. In fact I got a extra one i'm looking to get rid of if anyone is interested. It plugs into your tv and high speed internet and allows you to access your TV from anywhere on the planet from computer, tablet or smart phone. No service fee

That's...really cool actually. Thanks for introducing me to this. I might read up on this technology.

I know that Brett is crazy about his. He and his wife have both lived overseas and traveled overseas a lot over the last several years and it's enabled him to see Bama games, which he couldn't have otherwise...

The only caveat is you have to have fast upload speeds on your internet if you want HD video. You need at least 1.5 Mb/s upload speed for HD. Most internet companies like to advertise high speed download speeds, but don't mention upload speeds.

Wow! I'm going to get a hot spot for my laptop, now if I can swing it a sling box also, it would be great for travel. Thanks for the info y'all.

The Slingbox Solo is gonna be your best bet its a SD slingbox but supports widescreen. It actually looks really good. Like i said I have a extra if your interested, pm me.

My IP upload is 1.37, what about that?

Just want to say I don't own one. I'm just speaking from my experience with other HD streaming (mainly video conferencing tech.) You probably won't be able to get HD. Slingbox says a min of 1.5 Mb/s on their website. That is on the low end IMO and the video will be really compressed which will work well on normal TV shows or video conferencing where most of the picture stay unchanged, but compression at those rates will probably have lots of artifacts when there is lots of motion and screen refreshes (i.e. Sports).

Would probably be fine for standard Def though.

Well it is possible to watch it online, that is how i can watch most of Bama games. Not on official american broadcasters though..... they have a block for overseas watchers (at least all I tried).

Can you simply go to their main site?
http://abc.go.com/watch/shows

I use the app version of this on my iPad, but maybe that's only for TV shows (like Modern Family or Revenge).

There are tons of third-party streaming sites (there's even one from Russia), but you'll have to contend with popups (that can't be blocked very easily) and really annoying ads.

We don't allow the posting of URLs of bootleg sites...

You know what's the most annoying thing? Every year I finally find an online radio feed of the pre-game post-game, but every year I either lose this feed or it changes so that I don't have it anymore.

Being in the military moving around that is beyond annoying. So if you come across that information throw it my way so I can stop searching for hours. Up-note is that I still get espn3 here. *grin* so I am hoping to watch as many SEC games as possible.

Absolutely I recommend it. Get the latest version and, if you have an iPad, you can watch it using the slingbox app. I have the older HD version but am considering getting the newer version so I don't have to pull my laptop out to watch. I put in in the guest bedroom and use a Ethernet over power connection to hook to my router.

For what I understood, you can watch what's on your tv...... so for us overseas it would not help....... or haven't I understood anything? Last option is probable, since I am really looking forward 2 o'clock for kick off. :)
