We Are Alabama

Even with our lose Saturday its not out of the Realm of possibility that we still have a shot at a BCS game. We win out except for LSU and finish 10-2 and 6-2 with Notre Dame's auto bid gone.

Most know we'll likely see two games between Florida and LSU so that puts us at third as i dont see Georiga and SC beating Florida and I think both of those teams will stumble. Its highly unlikely but its still something we can dream about.

Great post RAT.

As far as the "bench JPW" thing goes....I would like to see GM get some playing time other than mopup duty. This can be done without creating the QB controversy, or hurting anyones feelings. This is also not a reflection of JPW's past performance, but rather preparing for the future. I have never understood why every player on the field gets a sub except the QB. (I played QB in HS, and there were some times out there when my O-line wasnt blocking I wanted a sub REAL bad!0.

I wonder how our current players feel about always being classified as "under talented".

I like what Deion Sanders said about people getting tired of Chad Johnson's celebrating in the end zone and talking trash. Deion basically said that if you don't like it then stop him from getting in the end zone. Because if he's not scoring on you then he's not celebrating.

Same goes here. If the players are getting tired of hearing about being "under talented" then do something about it. They've had an opportunity for four straight Saturdays in row and the fifth is coming this Saturday.

They're 3-1 with their only loss in OT to a team ranked in the top 25 with a road record that's insane.

Besides, talent is an inborn ability. You can't make yourself "more talented". Better, yes, but not more talented.

BAMA can beat LSU. It will require a flawless game but I see Alabama taking it to the Tigers. It will be a hard fought game. RTR. I have always been an optimist. Without it life just sucks, I would be lost in my old life had I not been positive and moved forward. Upsets are just that. If BAMA wins I would not call it an upset.

The majority of this board will tell you that we simply do not have the talent (from top to bottom) right now. Do you not agree? Do you not agree that our DL is relatively weak? Do you not agree that our talent at depth is deficient?

Sure we're 3-1 but by the skin of our teeth. We could very well be 2-2.

Sometimes it is what it is. The truth is the truth. Parts of our team are talented but then there are parts of our team that simply isn't the caliber talent thats par with the upper teams in the SEC.

All this under the assumption the players have acknowledge they are "tired of hearing" the "under talented" statement.

First, MA says he was not called, and he's telling the truth, no matter what you read elsewhere. We haven't done well with the QB threads around here, historically, and this past week. If this develops like the last one, it'll be closed. I'm going to say about as much as I can say on this site, but there are very good reasons that JPW is playing and GMac is not. At this point in time, JPW's strengths outweigh Mac's relative balance, or, believe, me the PT would be divided differently. The staff is in charge of this and, believe me again, they are strictly interested in winning games. It's just plain silly for people on this, or any other, site, to lean back in their LazyBoys and say "Coach awta play that McElroy kid." I don't regard anyone posting on this site as having the requisite information to know better than the coaching staff who gives us the better chance of winning... [/rant]

Edit: This staff does not play favorites, something I couldn't say about the last several (Price excepted, of course). I'm sorry if this takes some of the fun out for some...

I usually go straight for the couch and I am an expert on all things football. Just ask me. Heck, I woulda moved JJ to LB years ago.:)

...GROWING PAINS WILL HAPPEN...I AM EXCITED ABOUT OUR FUTURE...we have a pulse and most importantly we have HEART!...I'M PROUD TO BE A FAN OF THE ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE... ROLL TIDE ROLL

Great post rat. Also, glad to see so many others step up and show support for this sentiment.

So true...yet, many of us can't help ourselves but put in our own .02 and post rebutalls to the imbecilic posts about what the coaches and players need to do, even though we KNOW the poster lacks the above mentioned knowledge. It's an addiction, we can't resist. And the mods do a great job of letting things go and banning what truly doesn't belong. Which is why this board rocks!

How about the ones who called a coach at home to criticize the teams play? It was enough to tick off CNS.

There are millions of Bama fans and one guy allegedly calls a coach and all of a sudden fans are having a "meltdown". Read through this thread, do you see any meltdowns? Do you not remember the MSU or Arky games last year? The reaction to those losses was a meltdown

I doubt very seriously that many fans are having meltdowns. Some people just process a loss oddly. Most rational fans kind of figured that this would not be the most stellar season the Tide's ever had but they are so ramped up over Saban's hire and what it means for the future it's difficult to stomach the inevitable "bummers" we'll have to face along the way.

Today as I read through the forums and listen to alot of our "fans" start to meltdown. It made me think...We have something now that we haven't had in years we have a pulse and most importantly we have HEART!

I'M PROUD TO BE A FAN OF THE ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE... ROLL TIDE ROLL

This is, for me, is what separates college football from the pros...school pride. It may sound hokey but I love it. ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!
