On another site, I saw -4 for us. -7 seems much more reasonable...

I would bet a lot (if i bet on sports) with a -4 line. -7 seems about right to start out; I think it'll trend up and be -9 or -10 by Thursday.

I am just shocked that AU is favored. The game is at USCe right? It seems like another good one, but taking the points in this one.

I think it's at Auburn. Auburn only has like 4 road games.

The feel I have for this game is that there seem to be several scenarios in which the score could get lopsided -- most of them in Alabama's favor.

If Arkansas wins this, Mallett will have to be hot. If he starts throwing interceptions, and then gets rattled, it could get ugly for Arkansas.

If Mallett is hot, the Bama DB's are in for a quite a day. It seems to boil down to Saban's magic in teachiing a defensive secondary versus how hot Mallett is.

Pretty simple to analyze, now that I think about it. But I find it hard to imagine that from 4 to 7 points is going to separate these two teams after four quarters.

If we intercept three passes, the pigs will be rather quiet around Fayetteville.

:BigA:Fortunately for the Bama Nation "I" will not be placing a wager on this game. I would have to bet on the Tide and with my gambling luck we would lose by 30. Maybe I should place a few dollars on the Hogs just to ruin their Karma.:BigA:

Am I the only one that thinks the UF/KY game could get interesting?

No you are not. Some of the folks on Talking Football seem to think this could be an upset, that Ky has its best chance of beating Florida in a long time. I got interupted while they were talking about it so I can't give any detail on their thinking.

Thats why I don't bet; too many variables especially in college football and then instead of enjoying a game, you start worrying about the money and covering the spread.

Two lines are particularly interesting to me. Auburn favored over USCe is a puzzler. Gotta' believe some USCe folks will make some money on this one.

The other interesting one is BSU favored by 16.5 over Oregon State. Oregon State is the only remaining supposedly-credible game on BSU's schedule... yet BSU is still favored by a large margin. It'll be interesting watching the BSU-lovers in the media spin the BSU schedule into being worthy of a BCS bid.

I suppose Aubarn is favored because they are at home. I am also puzzled by that. I figured it would be the other way around.

For the past three or four years the favorite buzz-words of the TV media guys are "fly-in-the-ointment" and "BCS-buster," so we can rest assured that they will indeed spin this for all it is worth.

The first words out of Brando's mouth Saturday was "TCU." He has already pinned his hopes on them, since VT has stumbled out of the gate. Brando and his ilk have turned me into a TCU hater. I hope they lose to someone.

The short run being ranked will be over for the Shamecocks Saturday. AU will win by at least 6. USCe's win over UGA doesn't look too impressive now.

AU's win over Clemson wasn't that impressive, especially considering the AU OL was supposed to be a strength with a lot of starts up front, but they they got whipped by a middle tier ACC team. It'll be a low scoring thing and AU might win b/c they break one of those reverses for a long TD; I just think USCe can control the clock better with Lattimore.
