Week 9 Coaches Poll

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

Indiana may overtake Ohio St as #1 before the season the way they are playing.

Is Curt Cignetti the best coach in CFB today? I’m asking because according to 247 sports, they have the 72nd ranked team talent roster, with seven 4* kids and no 5*. They are ranked 20 spots lower than Vandy in team talent, and historically Indiana is the worst FBS program of all time.
No history, no top talent, and they are a rock solid team. You can PooPoo the level of competition if you want , but watch them play , and you will be impressed.

They are solid yes. I'll continue to poopoo their level of competition though.

I agree they are playing well. I simply question the competition level of teams they have played.

They've had 1 game vs a top team and won it.

Their strength of schedule is #42
Their remaining strength of schedule is #33

They'll run the table and play Ohio State in the BIG10CG.

Bama's strength of schedule is #4
Bama's remaining strength of schedule is #29

If we make it to Atlanta, we'd play Texas A&M or Georgia probably.

The two conferences are not the same. Indiana struggled with Iowa on the road.....how would they respond to at Georgia, Vandy, at Missouri, Tennessee, at SCarolina. The two schedules are not even remotely comparable.

If everyone near the top holds serve the Big 10 Championship will be #1 vs.#2 and the SEC Championship will be #3 vs.#4. I don't think that happens too often.

The two rosters are not remotely comparable. Watch them play, He isn’t Nick Saban , he is the evil Nick Saban. the take no prisoners, make they ass quit Nick Saban. His teams wrap around and suffocate opposing teams. It’s amazing considering it’s Bloomington, with more losses than any other FBS program in history .
This wasn’t Indiana vs Alabama, or that I want the guy as our coach instead of CKD. But you made the comment, I will carry it further. Indiana struggled on the road vs 6-2 Iowa, Alabama struggled on the road vs 3-5 South Carolina. Is South Carolina better than Iowa? I would say no, but that’s off in the weeds.

Yes, we struggled on the road at South Carolina.......after a road game at Georgia, home vs Vandy, road game at Missouri, home vs Tennessee.

Indiana on the other hand, had a home game vs Kennesaw State, a Friday night game at home vs Indiana State, a home game vs Illinois, a road game at Iowa, a bye week before their road game vs Oregon. Then turn around and play MSU and UCLA at home.

Yes, Cignetti is a good coach.....he also doesn't have to coach in the grind of the SEC.

DeBoer found out and it appears he has adapted. Cignetti knows, he used to coach down here.
