Recent developments have hurt Indiana's resume. While I think they're a very good team the whole #2 ranking is based on the road win @ Oregon. But the question now is "How good is Oregon?" They went to double OT to beat Penn State which seemed like a nice win at the time but with PSU having 4 losses now maybe it wasn't that good. They were also favored by 31 at home yesterday against a weak Wisconsin team but only won by 14.
Funny how all the talking heads are quiet about Oregon barely getting by a bad Wisconsin team at home yesterday. But they can’t stop talking about Bama struggling on the road against South Carolina after the toughest four game stretch in SEC history. Doesn’t fit their narrative, huh?
IU is also at #2 because they are undefeated.
They are also #2 in Game Control and EFF metrics.
If I were making a case for an SEC team to be ranked ahead of either tOSU or Indiana it would be 8&4.
They have comparable metrics to both but with a Top 15 SOS and being undefeated.
If we were undefeated we’d have an even stronger case to be ranked higher than the Top 3.
But we have an albatross loss to a team under .500
If tOSU and IU keep winning then one will beat the other.
Same for us and 8&4 so it will work out if we take care of our own business.
