Poor FSU. Imagine people saying Philadelphia shouldn’t make the playoffs because Jalen Hurts suffered an injury. That’s what just happened to them lol.

not saying the committee got it wrong. Bama is clearly one of the best 4. But if something as arbitrary as injuries determines post season play, then the system is broken.
I disagree. The committee's job was to choose and rank the four best teams as of today. That means wherever you're ranked, say No. 3 or 4, your team should be expected to beat anyone ranked below you if that game were to be played today. Would FSU sans Travis be expected to beat Alabama today?

Injuries are random events that are part of the sport and part of life in general. It's not "fair" that Travis wrecked his knee but life isn't fair, either.

The committee basically said which teams can win the championship. They came to the conclusion that FSU would not have a chance to win it so didn’t put them in. In all honesty if you had n 8 team playoff and ranked them 1-8 for best chance to win title they probably would have been ranked 8.
Yea, but by that rationale the huskies wouldn't be in either.

I am surprised they left out FSU and I do feel very sorry for their fans, but very glad we have a chance. I sort of felt in my heart of hearts that that win would put us in the dance, particularly when FSU struggled a bit with Louisville. It’s always good to end with a big win. If the GA and Auburn games were in a different order, I don’t think we’d be there.

Congratulations again Bama! I’m glad an SEC is in. I hope you wipe the floor with Michigan and I think you will. Maybe you get a chance for some revenge on the Longhorns also!

I’m sick about GA bc I am positive we have a top team, but someone had to get screwed and I can’t argue about Bama, you guys beat us and won the SEC. I honestly think our game was a toss up.

I do feel very bad for those FSU players. They do have reasons to be bitter about this. Look how many times Clemson made the Playoff in the past. Too bad that this year’s circumstances kept them out.

Anyway, I look forward to 12 teams getting in! I think Bama and GA will likely both make it every year!

I do feel bad for FSU because I know how I would feel if that happened to Bama. The fact is that there are five worthy teams so one of them was not getting invited. I think we are one of the best and earned our invitation, but I do feel badly for those players at FSU because they have to be frustrated and angry.

Well, if somebody had to get the stinky end of the stick I'm glad it wasn't us.

One thing Heather Dinich brought up which I had not considered: Mitch Barnhart, the AD at Kentucky, is on the committee.
He saw first hand Alabama and Georgia, two teams that destroyed Kentucky, and Louisville, the team Kentucky beat. The same Louisville that FSU struggled with for 55 minutes to win.
Not much more of compelling eye-test than what Barnhart witnessed personally.

Yea, I empathize with them the way we got left out last year and UGA got left out this year. UGA would be favored against the entire field if they were in and that probably includes us.

Yeah and about 75% of this board amongst ‘em. (“Erasable” though they may be…)

Another thing. Somebody mentioned the playoff model is broken . Lemme tell you what ain’t broken - the Saban playoff model of being there at the end. Doubt him at your own peril - or misalliance with fact. That’s for “the erasables,” too—

Roll Dam-, er, Dawggone Tide!
