What are the things you are most interested in seeing about this years team Saturday night?

I'm just hoping to see us hit slant routes and other short-to-medium stuff we weren't able to effectively execute last year.

Oh, and a defense with a mean streak about half-a-mile wide.

Poise and ability to execute under pressure and/or adversity.

FSU will come out with their hair on fire. Their crowd will be David Flaherty crazy. Malzahn will pull all sorts of trick plays and push the OL downfield rule to the limit -- assuming the refs have a limit on that.

Keep your head through the initial onslaught. Play your assignment and don't fall for Malzahn's eye candy. If the OL is a bit leaky in pass protection (which I expect), execute quick slants, checkdowns and safety valve passes to make the D back off a bit.

FSU might score first off of pure emotion. But if we don't help them, I don't think they can hang with us for 60 minutes. Let's do our jobs and not help them.

I want to see consistency and execution on offense and toughness, tenacity and tackling on defense. The rest will take care of itself. And no brain farts from the coaching staff.

Second, I am interested in seeing how the defense plays. Mainly the line and linebackers
