As I’ve said in previous posts, for me it is about the body of work. Yes Saturday night was a big step in the right direction. But let’s not get out “over our skis” in terms of making comparisons to previous teams.
We saw consistently inconsistent performances last year after big wins. The next four games before the off week prior to LSU will tell us a bunch.
Yeah, but the last three games have been pretty consistent. We have looked like we played with a purpose in the last three games. The defense is looking better (taking into account injuries and lack of depth and such). As much as it disappointed, That FSU game may be this year's 2008 Utah State. At least in the way that is seems to have made this team come together and buy in more and the coaching staff changing direction a little in the way they are coaching ( a little more hard nosed, holding players accountable).
I'm cautiously optimistic about the remainder of the season - including this Saturday.

There has been a big change in attitude seemingly... My impression was that we had a great buy in by the players all through this year, but needed to realize we still have to play the game. Gutting out a road challenge like Georgia shows that so far we have passed the challenge after a thumping by FSU.

If we come out strong Saturday and run the gauntlet of the middle 4 games... I think we definitely know that we are seeing a 2008 like season.

I am one of those who feels like the cracks in The Process first showed up in 2018 when Clemson drubbed us in the natty game that we just sleep walked through. 2019 was marred by injuries and the supermen made 2020 special, but in 2021 and onward we have had major issues with coaching and attitude and buy in. I am hoping that is changing. I expect it to take 3 years to completely refocus the program with bumps along the way as the new world of NIL and the portal is charted.
2018 national championship game was the most disappointing game in Saban’s entire tenure for me. The first game where I saw us visibly just give up by the end of the 3rd quarter. Tua should have brought us at least one if not two more NCs. Instead we got nothing due, imo, to bad assistant coaching.
