No one at Auburn has been asked to comment on any story by ESPN or anyone else. That doesn't mean there won't be. Normally, they are asked for comment shortly before the story is posted.
As for running back Jovon Robinson, as of today, he remains welcome to return to Auburn when he is eligible and there is no sign that Auburn or anyone at Auburn has been implicated in wrongdoing. That doesn't mean it's over with. The NCAA continues to ask questions.
Will the ESPN story, which word is will come out Tuesday or Wednesday, offer some kind of documented proof that Auburn did something wrong? I can't say it won't, but I see no sign of it at this point. Please don't interpret this as my saying there is no chance of trouble or that I know what any story might say. I am not in position to say that. But this is what I've been told.

To point out some differences between the Cam situation and this one, in that case, money was routed through some hard to trace conduits and, failing one witness, in the end, the NCAA decided not to take it on. Based on what I saw of the Logan Young case, I thought they would. One thing to remember is that the NCAA, other than the director and professional staff, it's a changing cast of personalities. The "pros" can be overruled, and were, in that case. This is a much simpler case, so far as the violations are concerned. The hand in the cookie jar is already admitted. What the NCAA is trying to connect up is AU to that hand. It's kinda unfortunate to have them sort of embarrassed and humiliated by what happened. The guys in office are the same guys who were there for the Cam Caper...

All I know is API is in full panic mode on their boards. But like most I just have to wait & see Cam was not the first, and they seem to dodge the bullet every time.

That guy is so pathetic. He gets his marching orders from their PTB and passes out the koolaid to their message board zelots. I hope they choke on that koolaid.

And because of their seemingly never-ending luck they believe they are above reproach.
That's what annoys the stew out of me.

The reason I think whatever MIGHT have legs is because Marshall was the first one out saying there was nothing to this two years ago in regards to Cam. Which leaves us a couple of options:

1) there's something he either knows or suspects ain't good

2) he's been tarrying in the Milwaukee potion again and posted while he was drunk

3) he's just trying to mess with us over here (and Tide fans everywhere)

4) someone hacked his account and posted without him knowing it

If there's another option please illumine me. The thing with NCAA sanctions is that it's sort of
reverse logic - whatever you think makes sense...the OPPOSITE of that usually happens (Sandusky
case notwithstanding).

Expect major violations for Auburn. Miss. St. is in trouble as well. Tennessee may be. This investigation has been ongoing for a long time and it's scope has gotten larger and deeper. Charles Robinson is there along with investigative reporters from pretty much every major sports outlet in the country.

ESPN may be the first to report but it won't end with what they report.
OMG dude, cheese and rice! Tell me just for shakes and wiggles, just how confident are you in what you have posted here? :)

At this point, I want to wait and see more than just allegations. The NCAA can always screw this whole thing up again. Just remember Lightfoot and Franklin will be involved again( meaning Gene Marsh) . I wonder if the boogs are having to fork over a couple hundred thousand to them again. KJ Strata always seems to have a handle on this aspect of the AU bureaucracy.

If Lightfoot and Franklin are getting paid copious amounts of cash in the last couple of months, you can bet the boogs are in it deep.

I hope the Barn gets no NCAA punishment. I want their dumpster fire of a program to have zero excuses for the self inflicted wounds they've opened up with Troop a Lupe.

Ya'll are chasing another rabbit that leads to nowhere. That's my opinion. As long as we continue to beat the barn on the field, I could care less if they cheat 24/7 and get away with it.

I know we all want Auburn to burst into mulitcolor flames -- but anytime the conference looks bad, it casts a shadow on us.....I would prefer any bad stuff to just go away. Auburn's on the field performance is quite enjoyable....

But, I'd prefer no conference drama if we can avoid it, but it's out of our hands, apparently.

RTR!
I concur, totally!!!

I'm confident that the person that informed me is in a position to know and is cooperating in the investigation. If it turns out to be accurate then Karma will have delivered just rewards. If it's not then I guess I'll be branded a Nostradamus again by those that regard "Discussion" as predictions.

I am only a regular guy that made acquaintance with people in a position to know. I pass on what I hear and sometimes speculate on information that is posted. There are a lot of what if's and I'll bet ya's on message boards and I'm not immune from indulging from time to time.

This particular information came from someone that I believe to be honest and involved. Who knows though. They could be wrong as would I for passing it on I suppose. As for now it's just rumor. I guess we'll find out soon.
