After watching him bring the game ball out vs. Auburn, I would be surprised if he plays ever again, or at least not until the 2008 season. His health is most important, blowing out all 3 knee ligaments would have been a less damaging injury, that was gruesome and a major, major injury that will take a very long time to heal, if ever truly healed, and even then he may not be able to play competitively at such a high level again.
Bamafan in NY, that is a stupid comment, NY must be getting to you. When should they have pulled him out of the game exactly? That was the biggest and best win for Bama in the last 4 or 5 years and a freak injury occurs late to a great player trying his hardest and you rip the coach for it? That injury could just have easily come on the first play vs. some scrub non-conference team.
It's not like at that stage he was Dwayne Jarrett or Calvin Johnson, he was a young player that still needed as much PT as he could get and he was performing very, very well and at a high level vs. a great team and was one of, if not THE main reason the O was so good up to that point.
There may (or may not) have been many good reasons to can Shula, prothro getting injured late vs. Florida had nothing to do with it (other than maybe the fact the O did change a lot with his absence, but it was still a freak thing that can happen to any player on any play).
