Question: What is the rule re:offside when three men in motion at the snap?

The only justifiable defense of the ref's on that call is that they thought Turner touched the left tackle before the snap, which he didn't though it was close.. Otherwise, that was a totally botched call.

And why the SEC can't get better officiating, I don't understand.

The SEC is arguably the premiere conference in CFB. THAT is a question that I wish they would answer...

...which would have been a dead-ball foul and would have stopped the play. There is no justifiable defense of the refs on this play, just as there isn't on many other bad calls and no calls that day that hurt both teams...

Thanks for the video look. I was wanting to see another look. CBS sure didn't show it. Clearly shows three guys in motion at the snap. That should have been a pretty easy call for a competent officiating crew, but we got Barney and his gang. Wait, that's an insult to Barney Fife. Autry is way worse than that.

I don't know. With that Autry crew, I think biased is a good word. Maybe not particularly against BAMA, (but I think so), but they sure do lean to the home team. Once they missed that early facemask, it seemed every crucial went to Auburn. Gotta keep the crowd off their back. How else could they botch that call a couple of years ago in the Auburn /Arky game. They got suspended then and should have stayed suspended.

True, but that does not excuse Alabama's jump. Both teams should have been flagged.

That is exactly what the problem was with the call. Just like when the block in the back was called instead of the face mask. Both penalties needed to be flagged.

The officials last night were awful…both ways.

Its beyond comprehension that officials at this level can be so bad.

Why should Bama have been flagged? Maybe the fact that 3 players were in motion is what drew them offsides.

You cannot be legally drawn offsides by a player who is allowed to move. All 3 Auburn players in motion were players who were allowed to go into motion.

Gary Danielson said it looked like Milroe went over the line and it would be a penalty. The other announcer was calling play-by-play and mentioned Milroe might get back behind before making the throw giving the impression that he thought a throw would be legal.

Autry was at the bottom of the pile when the players were fighting during the last kick off. The referees paid for letting the game get out of hand for several got knocked down in the scrum.

Possibly, but Autrey was probably in the tunnel before that determination was made...😖
