Question: What is the rule re:offside when three men in motion at the snap?

I feel like this scenario needs to be reviewed by the NCAA. There is a difference in changing formations and simulating a snap. IMO, in this play the WR went in motion and then the TE's simulated a snap with their sharp motion.

Thanks! Sounds like at a minimum it should have been offsetting. I’ve watched a lot of football but don’t think I have ever seen that scenario pop up.
Likely, Freeze is once again well aware of the rules, and how “exotic” he can call a game and still get away with it. He’s got a penchant for it. It’s typical, gimmicky crap like Malzahn and others before him did.

In the alternate view, I can't see it - one of the safeties is gesticulating with his hands, but it does not appear to be clapping on that view - besides he is quite a bit away.

I just don’t think that when your gameplan is based on bending rules to win…that’s not a solid long term play…Yet all boog coaches run fast, hide players, clap @ snaps, etc…line up like big boys if you want to be considered one. UGA…big boys, Bama,,big boys, those two schools up North…big boys.
see a trend here…
That’s part of why they’ll always be little brother. They know they can’t beat us playing real football!!!

The penalty didn’t cause the jump. On offense you can motion and shift as long as the they reset for a full second and you don’t have two (or more) players moving at the snap. The center was trying to catch Alabama in the neutral zone. He did, but he also caught his own player still moving without resetting.

They didn't stop they play, couldn't have by rule since there was not contact or unabated to the QB scenario. Since they did not stop the play, yes, we were offsides BUT as CB4 says they had 3 people in motion when the ball was snapped which should have been an illegal motion call - offsetting penalties. Another blown (or simply ignored) call (like about 5 DPI's that should have been called)

Remember when Chizik decided to change the Auburn offense to be a pro-set like Bama's?

Yeah, that got him fired ASAP.

FWIW, I agree, but they love trickeration and thrive on that kind of stuff.

Idiot Danielson said “will they just let the play happen and not call a penalty?” Moron

And he said we could kick a field goal on 4th and goal. Technically he was correct, but that option was never actually on the table.

Autopsy table maybe - like Saban's going to trust his kicker again in that swamp cattle pen to make good and then with go with an onside kick that risks putting the opponent instantly at the makeable FG line if unsuccessful.
