What is the state of Bama's basketball recruiting?

Hopefully, we are able to land Cothron, because Mike Anderson & Mizzou got Ricardo Ratliffe. It is still alright because he only wanted to play one year anyway. We are 2-3 years away and Mizzou is right there high in the tourney year after year.

Now Cothron, on the other hand, will come in as a freshman, so he has longer to learn CAG's system.

When is National Signing Day for Men's Basketball for 2010? Is it not as big of a deal as Football? I saw a program last night on ESPN2 ( I think) that was talking about Basketball NSD so much, that I thought maybe it was yesterday.

When is National Signing Day for Men's Basketball for 2010? Is it not as big of a deal as Football? I saw a program last night on ESPN2 ( I think) that was talking about Basketball NSD so much, that I thought maybe it was yesterday.

The thing that separates football from basketball is that in football, all of the emphasis is on one particular day.

In basketball, you have 2 periods or series of days.

We signed 2 guys (Releford & Hankerson) in the early period in November and we are now in the Late signing period which began yesterday and doesn't conclude until early May.

In other news, it is now believed that Cothron's grades is a concern for many of the schools that he is considering, including Alabama. Coach Grant is feverishly trying to reel in other options (Carter, Thornton & others) in case Cothron doesn't make it academically.

This will answer some of the questions to why he is even giving Auburn a second look.
