Question: What would make you happy to see during the upcoming Western Kentucky game?

I'd like to see:

- 3-4 really good JPW throws/completions out to around 30-40+ yards.

- JPW go virtually untouched in the backfield.

- McElroy go 6 for 9 passing with a TD.

- Oline consistently driving their man into the ground on running plays.

- Defense pitch a shutout, hold WKU under 250 yards total offense.

That's not asking too much, is it? :)
 
bama-63 wku-0 other than that? i'd like to see the game on TV for free!! sure is hard to depend on eli's eyes! ya know where he screams "big hole up the middle" and the back goes for 2 yards!! :) i'd also like to see my cable company offer espn360.:BigA:
 
1. The offensive line blowing the d off the ball as in the scrum being 3-4 yards upfield as the back is hitting his stride. Protection for JPW. Good reads by the rcvrs, backs, and qb....and execution.
2. A smothering defense that spends time in the backfield dropping backs and the qb. Pass coverage like white on rice and a brick wall against the run.
3. Special teams flying around the field blocking and tackling

Not that I would be happy with this alone but it's a start :)!

LOL! He does do that on an average of every single play, doesn't he? He never seems to get it right for the opposition, though -- "Bama closes the hole almost immediately!" and the opponent's RB gets like 5-6 yards. It's amazing...

On another note, no ESPN360 coverage where you are? It's been well covered around here, but bears asking again in case you weren't aware of it.

I'm in Cali, but I'll be watching the game on my PC for free when I get home tomorrow night. :BigA:
 
By the third quarter I would like to see a whole bunch of names and numbers on the backs of crimson jerseys I am not familiar with -- no starters on the field.

Here are a few things I'd like to see happen Saturday Night...

I'd kinda like to see us Open a Big-ole can of Bobby Boucher on the Hilltoppers. Skunk 'em. Hold their offense to less than 100 yds. Hang 100+ points on their defense. Make their coaches cuss uncontrollably while all their players break down & cry like they just got circumcised! I'd like to see Andre start but come out before the end of the 1st half because the score is already out of hand. I'd like to see JPW & all the rest of the 1st team-O have spectacular games then Coach pulls them & lets the 2nd teamers continue to pour it on, then it's the 3rd strings turn to keep it going. Have one of those games where like in baseball your team hits the complete circuit for like 4 continuous innings and the game is called out of 'Mercy!' :biggrin:

First and foremost- a win, no matter how pretty or ugly.

Second- If possible...one game where we take control early and give Greg McElroy
a chance to take some snaps. It's way overdue. The kid has worked very hard and deserves
an opportunity to show his stuff.

That's it.

A Running Back making a big play. I can't remember the last time a running back actually took one to the house from 30+ yards out. 5-6 yard chunks are nice and efficient, but at some point it would be nice to see a little explosiveness - and it starts up front with OLine and ends with a back who can make 1 or 2 guys miss. If we can't get that against Tulane or Western, who can we get that against?

Wouldn't mind seeing a little down-the-field throwing either. I was hoping that with bigger receivers this year and more use of the TE's, that Bama would attack the middle of the field more, but it hasn't happened. I would like to see that.
 
A win, and the fans being very loud like in big games.........

Would love seeing JPW hooking up with a few long passes to our receivers. Jones getting a long bomb for a TD would help with his confidence & JPW. Maybe JPW will just have to throw it deep even in coverage, and let Jones go get it........
 
To play a full 60 minutes with confidence and intensity!! To see complete physical dominance!! Blow out by half in order to let the younger classmen get some playing time!! Since I'm watching it on Gameplan, to hear the Bryant Denny crowd into it from start to finish!!

1. A Win

2. All Players stay healthy.

3. Dominate to point of 1st string going to the bench.

4. Dominating in a fashion that we still do not show our hand to the likes of Jawja, LooSUr, or The Awwwbern, when they watch the films.

* for the record as bad as I hate Awwwbern, I want to play them with both teams being undefeated. It will be that much sweeter to pull the rug out form under their feet before kicking them in the ribs, and slamming the door on their ugly little chicken heads.
