I love the Football talk, and I learn a lot of new things here, but what about our kick arse Basketball team and the job that Coach Gottfried is doing. We may have two Dynasties in the making.

I did notice on TV that the crowd was in the game last night, but never saw any of the players go over to the student section to thank them for the support. They seemed to be more concerned as to who would be on the after game TV. That might be why no one cares other than seeing the game.

Coach Gottfried's first name is Mark. As for the team showing the student section some love, I don't think that the student section needs a show of thanks after every game to know that the team appreciates them. CMG and various players have indicated their thankfulness for Mark's Madness and the rest of the fans several times during the season, already. This team deserves complete support, and I'm tired of hearing all of the excuses why they should not get it. RTR!!!

At the left under sports boards and directly below football is the basketball forum where there is quite a following. Check out the love there.

That was the most painful first-half to watch that I can remember. Lawd they are bad with free throws. I think I will see if my 13 year old can walk-on. At least he can hit free-throws and lay-ups. My gut was hurting trying to watch the first-half and trying to will the free-throws in the basket.

"We may have two Dynasties in the making."

I assume you mean Basketball and Gymnastics you sure can't be referrrng to the Football team.
I don't see any signs of a dynasty in football
whatsoever. A decent team eventually, maybe but dynasty afraid not. Those days are over. Actually in BB or FB no SEC team can become one the conference is too good. I don't Miami would have gone undefeated playing in the SEC and FSU would not have gone to a BCS bowl.
The only way to have a dynasty is not play in the SEC

The sad thing is that the basketball team plays two games a week, was ranked #1 for two weeks this season and is currently still in the top 10, and yet there have only been about 20 post over here this week. Lets face it guys, the reason that some of us post things about basketball or pro-sports on the football board, is because its the only place it gets read sometimes.

I guess wins over OU & Ohio St on the road are not big games???

I am not saying that the Tide's basketball team is awful. I think that they have played fairly well. I do not, however, think that this team is capable of winning a NC this year.

Take a look at Bama's road record over the last few years. Is that type of play on the road a sign of a championship program? I don't think so and I have seen nothing this season that makes me think that anything has changed.

Consider this, all games played in the playoffs will be road games. Does anyone on this board really believe that this team can win 6 games in a row on the road? That is what it takes to win a NC in basketball.

Remember the NIT 2yrs ago & remember how awful we were on the road that year, but yet they got to the championship game.

No Bama is not playing like a NC team right now, BUT they IMO have the caliper to make a run come tourney time. Hey these guys were not #1 for no reason, once a 3rd & 4th scorer emerges & can score consistently, Bama will be damn good, & hard to stop.

For Bayoutider and Wild_Tide_Child I do realize how this works. I am not an Auburn fan, I know how to read and follow instructions. I just think that there should be more interest in the Basketball program. This is why UCLA thinks that they can get our Coach. I appreciate the support of those who back my submission and like to talk Basketball, AS WELL AS, Football. We do have a road win problem, but remember, we won every game at neutral sites this year. Where do they play those NCAA tournament games at anyways?
Something to think about.

It is not ROAD games Bama has problems with, it is road games at the opponents home court.

That being said, I can see Bama making a run in the NCAA tourney. I expect to see Bama get consistently better as we integrate the 2 W's into the team, and that they will peak come SEC tourney time.

Just a hunch...
