Hey everyone

Just curious where I might be able to listen to Bama games on the iPhone.
I'm using the iheartradio app, but I don't see any of the stations that stream Bama games on their station list.

I'll be at the game Saturday and would like to be able to listen in to Eli and Barry calling the game...

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

ive actually done that at falcons games on iheart last year. the only issue i had was that there was about a 15 -20 sec delay between the action on the field and what the announcers were calling. It was a little annoying to hear the announcers talking about something you saw 15 secs ago.

I would have think that iheart would carry the SEC Championship. if i see something I will post a link for you.

Thanks a lot. Yeah, that would be pretty frustrating, but during those cases where something happens and we're not sure what is going on when watching it live it's nice to be able to tap in and know what's going on.
I know I can get some of the stations here in Tampa that are Gator networks, but I'd much rather listen to Eli and Barry if possible.

Thanks!

The WunderRadio App has 99.5 out of Birmingham plus 1000s of other stations. Think that would be your best bet. I'm not sure if the streams are blocked for the games though beause I've never tried it. If there is a station you are interested in let me know and I'll see if it is available before you buy it.

Yeah, 99.5 would be AWESOME if it doesn't block out the games, though I doubt it would block out this one anyway. Don't they usually only do that with home games that don't sell out, similar to TV blackout rules?

Problem is that when they started doing paid subscriptions for streaming the games, I'm pretty sure they changed the deal with the CTSN radio stations so they could only broadcast games over the air and not online. I think there may be a few out there that still do. I think your best bet would be to by WunderRadio and try.

I also think AM 680 out of Atlanta will be broadcasting the game.

I hate to answer with a low tech solution, but how about you take a transistor radio?

That's what I was going to suggest. If you're going to the game, you're better off with a $20 pocket radio and headphones.

Yeah, the main thing is that if it works, I'd use it on my phone. If it doesn't, no big deal... I'd rather not carry around an extra item to the dome.

Thanks for the heads up and suggestions, everyone.

WunderRadio works great and has not blocked a stream for me yet, even Braves games! You need to turn off your phone and then turn it back on close to when you start listening to the broadcast to free up the memory. Also, from time to time you may have to turn off the program and turn it back on. This iphone stuff is the equivilent of 1960's TV with rabbit ears and tube-testing. It'll get better and more reliable soon.

I've been told the new ipods have a built-in FM tuner. Wish my iphone had that. And the touch screen could easily send an infrared signal to be my TV Universal Remote. Why no app? But i digress...
