Where's the best place to get tickets?

I grew up one county over from Tuscaloosa and I'm a lifelong Alabama fan, but I'm ashamed to say that I've never been inside Bryant-Denny Stadium. I've promised my sons that I'll take them to a game this year, and I want it to be the October 10 game vs. Arkansas.

But everywhere I look online, decent seats on the Bama side are starting around $300.00 each. I keep hearing that I can find them easily and cheaply outside the stadium on game day. But...... for me to book a hotel room and drive down from Knoxville based on that theory is a bit scary. I would REALLY like to have my tickets in hand before making the trip.

What would you suggest?

The only tickets that are listed right now are people trying to get suckers that will pay anything. I really wouldn't start worrying about tickets until about two weeks before the game. I expect for that game you will be about to get decent tickets for $150 or less, but everyone has his or her own definition of decent.

$350.00 for the set is fine with me. I'll also go a bit higher. But my main thing is that I want them secured before making the drive.

You should be able to do that no problem. Just start hunting sites like seatgeek.com about two or three weeks before the game.

Listen, I have done this many many times driving from Tampa. Look for the Licensed Ticket Brokers, they war a badge. You can get any kind of seat you want & pay less than the $350 great seats around $100 for Arky, get there early don't buy the first you run across unless it's a great deal. But Tuscaloosa is the best city in America to get a good ticket at a fair price, it's above face but some of these guys have been doing this for decades. If you don't already have your hotel at least 100 miles away may be all you can get. I stayed in Anniston.

You will have to pay above face but should be able to get them at a descent price. You have to remember that face value is not really what people pay. With Tide Pride it cost above that for each ticket. I am on one of the lower tiers of Tide Pride and it averages over 20 dollars extra a game.

Hotel room is now...... BOOKED! So that stress is managed. I'm going to go down there on faith that I can find us three seats together (which is my only option).

The tickets have shipped now so you should be able to find initial sellers on eBay and the like. I would agree with earlier posters and suggest waiting until the week or two before. I would also suggest to look at sets of 4 and then sell one outside the stadium... sets of 3 are hard to come by and often don't sell well.... If you can find 3 then lock them up.
