President Trump was reportedly outraged over the deployment of European troops to Greenland over the weekend for military exercises that some government officials believe may have escalated tensions between the US and Europe.

The sudden flurry of European military activity in Greenland — ostensibly part of a “reconnaissance” mission ahead of future NATO exercises — “baffled” Washington and provoked Trump to threaten tariffs on the nations putting boots on the ground of the Arctic island, the Times of London reported on Tuesday.

“I couldn’t understand the PR part of the deployment,” one government adviser in a European country told the Times. “That does not at all excuse Trump. But I think it enabled some in his vicinity to escalate the issue.”

IOW, the big baby got his little feelings hurt so he is striking back. We dont need an emotional toddler running this country.

I wouldn't have said it like that, but tell me where he's wrong. The USSR would have had a much harder road than they already had without US support. The UK would have struggled to stay in the war without Lend/Lease and there would have been no cross channel invasion without the US. The UK and the commonwealths didn't have the horsepower to get it done.

Marshal Georgy Zhukov, a key Soviet commander, later acknowledged: "We didn’t have explosives, gunpowder... And would we have managed to quickly get tank production up and running, but for Americans’ assistance with steel supplies?"

Over half the British 8th Army tanks at El Alamein were US tanks. There is no way the British could have beaten the Japanese alone while dealing with the Germans in North Africa and trying to defend The British Isles themselves. Australia and New Zealand weren't getting the job done either. India had a huge population, but where were they going to get the supplies and equipment to take on the Japanese?

So, to summarize Trump is way to bombastic in his speech about things like this, and I would say things in a much different tone, but he's telling no lies. Stalin would never admit it, but Zhukov did and so did Churchill.

I had another laughable conversation several years ago with a neighbor who had emigrated here from Belarus. He was bragging that Russian fighter jets were far superior to ours. I told him that, yes, they might be a little faster than ours when they lit up the superchargers, but our jets would simply be hiding over the horizon, shooting them down. That is even more so true withe the F22/F35.

Probably so, just as the Trumpers (and the press) dismiss his flubs as just “Trump being Trump,” something they either admire or disregard.

Deliberate or not, ignoring the warning signs of the declining mental health of our leaders doesn’t serve us well. It likely cost the Democrats the election and doomed the nation to the disaster of another Trump term. What will ignoring Trump’s decline get us?

You nailed it. I'm also not convinced the Chinese have equipment that can do half what they say it can do. The Communists generally aren't real good at innovation. They steal other people's stuff and make poor copies in many cases.

Yep. See the Russian's "stealth" jet, the SU-57. It's been around for almost a decade, and not available in any big numbers. And with questionable stealth features. The Russians make beautiful planes....I like the line son the Su-35s and Mig-35s, but I would never choose them in a firefight with one of our planes......not even with the F-15 or F-16.

The Chinese stealth planes look like on the outside like they reverse-engineered our planes. They have stolen so much technology.

The Chinese are doing great things in the consumer market, however. I have seen reviews/comparisons between BYDDY and Tesla, and many favor the Chinese for quality and luxury. We will never see those cars here due to import tarrifs. I had BYDDY in my portfolio for a while....since Warren Buffet liked them. Made a llittle $$$ off of it before I sold it last year.
