A pretty good read on J Fulton. I found it interesting though how the article and his HS coach do not seem to point to USC as a leader. I still think they lead but inteesting.

Briggs says that he thinks Fulton's game is powerful now, and he still has "light years ahead of him" to grow.

"He's more of a straight-line player," he said. "Alright, I need you to cover him, bam, it's done, you can forget about it. I need you to do this kickoff return, it's done. But when he gets to Alabama or Florida, wherever he's going to go to, he's got a little bit more to develop mentally as far as the total aspect of coverages."

John Fulton's father is serving overseas in Afghanistan, but he's still involved in his son's recruitment - ESPN

I told you guys this may come down to a UA/UF battles. I know Blake will be along soon to tell me how wrong I am but this is just what I have heard for a while now. TIFWIW.

Re: Fulton in that article...

Fulton's father also stays in contact with college coaches like Alabama's Nick Saban and Florida's Urban Meyer to ask questions about his son's recruitment.
South Carolina was mentioned once in that ESPN (not Bama bias) article, and it was to say that it was his dad's favorite school. Not to defend BlakeSmash, but he could be waiting to commit until when his dad comes home in December, simply to please him with a USCe commitment. But then again, his coach (who JF is around all the time) sure seems to be hung up on UF/UA in that article, which Airborne has been saying along. I believe Airborne (reliable) until I see otherwise. My .02...

We are after Arie a lot harder than Stone or Coleman....we are waiting for Arie's decision. We won't take both Stone and Coleman unless Arie goes elsewhere, if Arie chooses BAMA then we will only take 1 of the of the other 2, either Stone or Coleman. Arie and Fulton are now tied for #1 on our board. Anyone after these 2 is just cake....
Does this mean that Mosley is a silent commit or in the bag? Just curious.:BigA:

Not necessarily, but we have been in the lead with Mosley for a long time and it is widely accepted that he is coming to BAMA. I think Mosley is coming BAMA as do most others. I don't want to count my chickens before they hatch but the smart $ is yes he is BAMA bound. Stranger things have happened in recruiting but I say it is about 99% he ends up wearing Crimson. The 1% for something screwy happening like with Reid last yr.

We already have 25 commits counting the three grey shirts from last year. Not sure how this is going to work with only three to give and not room for the ones we already have on board without major attrition again. Any thoughts on how it will work out?
Don't include them all just yet . To be on the safer side , only count 1 of them towards 2010 . Also , there will be a couple of guys who do not actually sign . So , no matter how one chooses to count them , there will be more than 28 equations to solve over the Summer . The only way this doesn't come to pass is if the bottom completely falls out - and it won't

I believe there is a strong possibility that two of the grey shirts can be back counted to the 2009 class.
Yes . Possibly all 3 . The reason there is no definitive answer at this time is because of Phelon Jones and not knowing when he was/is placed on scholarship .

As far as remaining targets go .... I expect 6 or more additions to the class . If everything breaks right I'm expecting 2 OL , 1 DL , 1 LB & 2 DB with a pretty good possibility of 1 more WR . After Christmas break we'll likely hear about a new target @ RB as well . We'll see :)

I was saying for '10 . The staff will re-evaluates all of their targets in late December and give the board a fresh shuffle . We'll learn of or verify a few new possibilities before the new year and there's almost always a RB in the group . Same point in the process that Ingram rose to the top :)

You really think we would take another RB? We still have Lacy waiting in the wings and the consensus that this yr's RB class is not in the same orbit as 09. Just seems with the limited space we have this yr, that it would be more of a long shot in this yr's class to take another RB. It will be something I will look for no doubt since you mention it, I just wonder who it might be. Dyer is committed to AU, Seastrunk openly called out BAMA, Lattimore looks to stay in the Carolinas, Storm went to Miami....Saban may pull another Ingram out of his black top hat though.:biggrin2:

I think the running back situation is one that we should really keep our eye on. Right now it looks loaded, but realistically at this point Mark Ingram is leaving after his junior season. Also, keep in mind that neither Matchett or Preyear are around anymore, and that Terry Grant will graduate after 2010.

In all, that means that going into the 2011 season we should have five tailbacks on scholarship... Trent Richardson, Eddie Lacy, Demetrius Goode, Jeramie Griffin, and Jalston Fowler.

Depending on how injuries and the like go, that could be cutting it fairly thin. Clearly getting Lacy was a bit of a pleasant surprise, but Griffin blew out his knee in Fall camp and Goode has yet to be a meaningful contributor on offense. If those two can rebound and play well, it's likely a moot point, but if they struggle somewhat, we really could use another tailback in this class.

My question is just who would it be? None of the big three are coming for one reason or the other, and this is a pretty weak year for tailback prospects in general. I'm not opposed to the idea of bringing another tailback on this year, but you need to find the right guy and I do not see it right now. It could change, but as of right now I think we would likely wait until 2011 and get two tailbacks in that class.

Yeah, plus RB is one of the easiest positions for a freshman to be able to contribute quickly. So if we had to bypass a good RB this year to get a couple of great ones next year, I'm ok with that.

This guy looks pretty good...Gibson is the one who said "Bryant Denny stadium is like nothing I have ever seen before" after the LSU game. Video is terrible goes from good to really dark and back several times, only one I can find.....

I don't have any particular back in mind because it's usually a player with whom there has been very little to no previous connection . A lot of kids will have made surprising progress in the classroom too .

With prospects pulling the trigger earlier and earlier it's not nearly as important or interesting a period as it once was but it still signals the 4th turn for me going all the way back to the days when teams still had 15+ open slots @ Christmas . That's when instead of 6-8 new possibilities it was always around 20 or more .... which made for a ton of fun . LOL :)

PS - When reading the 5 BET listed for 2011 , I could easily see that group becoming as few as 2 by then :p_eek:

- Arie is the #1 OL on the board but Pendry likes Stone the best and Stone has been Pendry's guy for a long time now.

-Regardless of what you read anywhere, we are in great shape for Fulton. While this situation is volatile, the things he has told out staff would excite some folks here...

-You can go ahead and put Harris on the commit list (and you will as soon has Fulton announces his decision)

-Staff has Adrian Hubbard as high on our board as you could be.

-Mosely is coming to BAMA.

Where do we stand on Trevor B.? He could be the next Toby Gerhart and his recruitment has been quiet as of late.

He is huge.

I don't know who your sources are, but I like what they're saying.

Do you know if it's an either/or kind of situation with Arie K and Stone, or would we take both?

Thanks for weighing in.

Is it an EITHER/OR for Fulton and Harris or BOTH?

How high are we on Mr. Hubbard's board?
