I have had a strong dislike for awbrin since I was in the womb, and I have equated pulling for them to suddenly deciding to be BFFs with my husband's ex-wife, and that won't EVER happen. EVER.

It just occurred to me that our parent meeting for the iPad rollout we'll be doing is set for January 6. Guess we'll have to change that to accommodate the barners.

I will probably watch with a small bit of curiosity. I will certainly not be rooting for either team. I have a coworker who is a staunch Criminole fan, and after last year's NC game I asked her watch she thought and she said, oh, I didn't watch it. She had a look of disgust and total disregard for what Bama and ND had accomplished, while keeping silent about the criminoles loss to Florida earlier. I wanted to call her a fake college football fan and a P.O.S., but held my tongue instead.

There is some bit of redemption if we win our Bowl game and finish ahead of the cow pasture in the final polls.

I never have liked FSU and never cared for Bobby Bowden (even before his boy became a Barner). I think he ran a rouge program and got away with it for years. The media gave him a pass thanks to his charming, good ole boy, aw shucks personality. It was seen as a welcome contrast to Spurrier's sometimes snarly demeanor and the antics in Coral Gables were much worse than what was going on at Tallahassee.

That being said, I'm pulling for FSU.

- IMO FSU is the greater recruiting threat.
- I like the idea of the NC staying in the state of Alabama for 5 years in a row.
- I like the idea of an 8th SEC NC.
- Auburn just doesn't matter to me enough for me to want them to lose. I don't give them that level of importance. They're just another SEC team. Granted, they're a team that defines their existence based on beating Alabama... But that's their issue and their identity. Not mine.

You don't root for your rivals. Anywhere. Auburn is a rival. In fact, in my years of watching, Bama has gone 4-10 against them. I think it's time to shelf the "Auburn has no impact on Bama" talk. They are our biggest rival recruiting and on the field. The SEC propaganda doesn't matter to me. My loyalty is to Alabama alone.

A couple of thoughts:

Hate the Semenoles since that game in '07 in Jax. Men, women and children came up to me while I was simply minding my own business and dropped all kinds of F-bombs and raising the finger. Saw many FSU fans trying to start fights. Disgusting and classless fan base. Always root for them to lose since. On the other hand, as bad as they are, they are not The Fambly. And where is everybody getting the idea how cool it would be to keep the crystal in Alabama for 5 years? Since when was the barn in Alabama? Go Noles!

Well, I dislike FSU, but I dislike the Barn more. Since they both can't lose...I guess I'll go with the lesser of two evils. All this SEC and state loyalty must be for this new generation of Bama fans...you know, the kind that would put an Auburn sweater on Big AL...not me. :BigA:
