We are going to Las Vegas. We came out mucho, mucho cheaper. For about $520 each we have flight, four nights and a rental car.
It is about a 3 and half hour drive to the Rose Bowl. For some reason, I have always wanted to go to Hoover Dam. And I get $2 beer on the strip in LV.
We saved about $1000 total flying and staying into Vegas thru Priceline.

I think I'm all squared away. I just pre-ordered a parking pass through Pasadena, so I'm going to drive in around noon on the 7th and shuttle in and out of the Rose Bowl.
My tickets should be Fed-Ex'd overnight on the 16th. Can't wait!!!
I can save you 50% on your beer. Find a penny machine somewhere and sit down. Wait for the cocktail waitress to come by and when she brings you your beer, give her $1.

For advice from people who have extensive experience with attending games at the Rose Bowl, I suggest that you read some of the messages that have already been posted at BruinGold.com. This is a website for UCLA fans. The Rose Bowl is the home field for the UCLA football team.
If the messages don't answer all of your questions, then I suggest that you simply post a request for more advice.
By the way, we have the dubious honor of getting to play against Texas in September. We have a young team and probably won't be able to handle Texas real well. But watch out for us in the future. I think that our team will be consistently in the top ten within a couple of more years.

Hotel = Check, Check, staying in Costa Mesa near John Wayne Aitport
Rental Car = Check, Check, Check.
P.S. - For those flying/staying in/thru Vegas. Be aware that that week/weekend is the International Adult Film Awards and Convention. I learned this thru a buddy that is travelling thru Vegas and as a result of the Convention will be staying elsewhere.

Who all is going to Pasadena? I just found out my cousins, who are Tide Pride members, are not going, and are going to sell their tickets to my sister and me. I'm so excited! I've never been to a game of this magnitude before. To see Alabama win the National Championship will be so incredible!
Now I'm scrambling to get flight and hotel reservations. Just curious to see who else was going.

Don't have game tickets yet, but the airlines and the hotel are set. We may not get into the game, but wife, son, DIL, and granddaughter will be there for the atmosphere and the party. As good a time as I can think of for a family vacation to Cali.
