Nice way of saying he’s fired"Mutual parting" is what ESPN is reporting about Kraft and BB. According to ESPN he still wants to HC.
Well, depends. They still ran a spread option style offense out there. Might not be that appealing to a guy like Sayin to be honest.Didn't Lanning and his OC turn Bo Nix into a heisman candidate? What could they do with Sayin???
I'd bet he will modify his offense for more balance in the SEC. Gotta be able to run as well, and I bet Sayin will be factored inWell, depends. They still ran a spread option style offense out there. Might not be that appealing to a guy like Sayin to be honest.
I was talking to one of my friends this morning about the mess with the transfer portal, the NIL and what it appears CFB is turning into. I told him my "bold" prediction is that Dabo will retire in less than five years. He's just not cutout to do what it takes to successfully function within the current landscape of college football. Here are the current Vegas odds on the next Alabama coach, courtesy of BetOnline:
Dan Lanning - 3/1
Dabo Swinney - 4/1
Lane Kiffin - 5/1
Deion Sanders - 6/1
Kalen DeBoer - 6/1
Pat Shurmur - 9/1
Urban Meyer - 10/1
Billy Napier - 14/1
Derek Dooley - 14/1
Mike Norvell - 16/1
Ryan Day - 20/1
DeMeco Ryans - 22/1
Marcus Freeman - 22/1
James Franklin - 25/1
Sherrone Moore - 25/1
Mike Shula - 28/1
Steve Sarkisian - 35/1
Will Mushchamp - 40/1
Mario Cristobal - 50/1
Mike Vrabel - 50/1
Dan Quinn - 50/1
Bryan Dabol - 75/1
Butch Jones - 75/1
PrivacyThe thing I can't figure out is why in this day in age that Dan Lanning would have to be in Tuscaloosa in order to only "interview"? Heck CNS even knows how to make zoom call.
A friend of mine said most people are assuming Sark is happy at Texas. He is from Texas and said he believes the politics/booster interference at Texas is much greater than at Bama. I don't think money will be a big issue. Sark knows he could win at both places. I guess it comes down to where you feel most comfortable. My list:
1a) Sark - Been here, knows the Culture, has had success in the SEC as an OC and the BIG12 as a HC
1b) Kiffin - Been here, knows the Culture, and has been successful in the SEC as an OC and a HC
3) Ryan Day - Really good HC with a lot of time to become Great - sorry B1G
4) Kalen DeBoer if he brings Ryan Grubb
5) Kirby for the MELT
Yeah, if he's still there and "walking around the campus" it is either a done deal or about to be. But I've been so wrong before about things that I just knew I was so right, so here we go!Per Press Box radio show Lanning has been confirmed to be on campus this morning so it looks like he’s our guy.
Yeah and I am surprised his vegas odds are that high and that he's even seriously being mentioned as a candidate for the Bama HC job.I was talking to one of my friends this morning about the mess with the transfer portal, the NIL and what it appears CFB is turning into. I told him my "bold" prediction is that Dabo will retire in less than five years. He's just not cutout to do what it takes to successfully function within the current landscape of college football.
well, I'd hope whoever we get as coach would consider that for sure. Not all would, but it also might mean not bringing in your OC, who might not be that apt to change or might only really know the spread. I don't know these things to be true of Lanning or his OC. Just could mean Lanning, if he's the guy, might not bring all his Oregon staff with him.I'd bet he will modify his offense for more balance in the SEC. Gotta be able to run as well, and I bet Sayin will be factored in
And I wouldn't blame him one bit.I was talking to one of my friends this morning about the mess with the transfer portal, the NIL and what it appears CFB is turning into. Danggggggg..Talk about messing with The Barners & the rest of college football collective heads.."Mutual parting" is what ESPN is reporting about Kraft and BB. According to ESPN he still wants to HC.
Yea, five years ago coaches had to suck up to kids to get them to sign on February. Now you’ve got to suck up to them, the ones on campus, the ones at other universities just in case, and still somehow manage to coach football in there somewhere. And I wouldn't blame him one bit.
