DeBoer has an air of toughness about him that reminds me of coaches like Bryant and Saban. A coach can affect the mentality and the character of teams. Washington this year won a lot of close games. That is what mentally tough teams with championship character do.

He won multiple national championships in division 3 and turned Buffalo and Kansas into respectable teams! I hope none of our conference rivals consider him to fill a coaching vacancy.

I don't hate him either. My problem with Dabo is his refusal to adjust to the modern world of college football, crappy as it may be.

Pate said on his show tonight that there are 2 names in play who haven't been mentioned and who haven't coached at Alabama before. I've been trying to think of who that could possibly be and nobody really stands out, even as I glance through names and programs. Really really curious about who that could be.

I'd consider Chris Klieman. Don't know if he is one of those two but he's a very good coach IMO.
