I am just the waterboy. I tried to give Coach Saban advice once. He poured my water bottles out.

I doubt he did that. But he did take some boxes of "Sabanation" tees and throw them in the dumpster, with some remarks that wouldn't be printable here. It's taking some folks a long, long time to really "get it" as to where he's coming from. And the media seem to be bringing up the rear guard...

With the recruiting class he signed in 07 with only a month to recruit, and the commitments we have so far this year, not to mention the other superstars that are gonna commit later on this year, I really don't think we have to worry about fading in 09. We may still be a year away from a legit shot at a NC in 09, but i think by 09, Bama will be BACK for good!

Correct me if I'm wrong, and I am sure some will, but wasn't Nick Saban hired to be the Head Football Coach at the University of Alabama? I know that I for one do not recieve a check from the University of Alabama. Some of you on this board must, seeing as how you seem to know more than CNS. Let's all take a deep breath and look back a few years.... 10 to be exact. These numbers may not be completely correct, but just off the top of my head I think it went something like this....4-7, 7-4, 10-3, 3-8...7-5, 10-3,... this guy didn't even get to coach...4-9, 6-6,10-2,6-7. Thats not really setting the world on fire now is it?My point is ( if I really have one) let CNS do what he was hired to do, let the man coach a football team that really needs some serious coaching. Three coaches (one medicore and 2 just not real good) have shown that you can win at Alabama, each had a 10 win season, Just think what CNS can accomplish in time . That's really all he needs. Just look at what he did for LSWHO.

When did I lecture anyone? I have given my opinion and, while I would love to ignore the problems, I am not. Further I have never insulted or been derogatory to any members and yet I have had two members of TF call me an idiot, how would you or other members react if I called you an idiot? I am sorry if you cannot follow the logic of my argument so I will try and simplify it. If one cannot criticize the teams performance unless they are head coach (as CrimsonStorm argued) they logic would follow that you cannot criticize anything unless you are in charge of that operation. Get it?

Im with anchovy on this one. The original post seemed to be talking down to all of us little children who should never dare question CNS or the team. I come on this board to specifically question what goes on around the team and gain insight from other members. I don't care for members to come on the board and tell the rest of us to shut up, sit down, eat our cookies and not voice an opinion.
and bamafan, if you can't understand the analogy "President, Budget, Iraq, or the Pope" that anchovy was making, then you just aren't trying very hard. Here I will try to elaborate. In a DISCUSSION board we are usually here to DISCUSS various things. By nature of DISCUSSING various topics we usually put forth our OPINION. This sited is called TIDEFANS. Which implies that we will probably be DISCUSSING the Tide quite a bit. Therefore as Tidefans on a football discussion forum I find it completely ludicrous that I need to be hired as the head coach in order to voice my opinion on various aspects of the team. Anchovy used the analogy of not having to be elected to varrious positions to talk about those opinions which is a perfectly appropriate analogy to make. There I hope Ive clarified the misunderstanding. If not well there is always a position open with Al Gore in need of telling other people to do as they are told and don't question the infinitely superior intellect of those in power...
