Who will Bama finish up with ?

I can see it now.....0730 on 4 Feb 09...first call comes in...we tidefans are glued to the board waiting for the first little news to come.....DK pops up and announces Roll Tide to start the tidal wave to flowing....then KK who was sitting beside him says the same thing...wow that was fast....next we get a surprise commitment on Myles, he says something to the effect that he could not turn down the opportunity to be coached by the best secondary coach in the modern era...the forum goes crazy.....Moore who had changed his mind AGAIN finally annouces that Alabama is the school for him......TR has three hats on a table as we all look on to the utmost, he has an UA, FL and LSU hat....he picks up the LSU hat and spits on it and throws it on the floor, UA and FL fans go wild, then he picks up the UA hat looks at the camera puts it on his head and said no stinking way he was going to be a blocker for Teabag, I mean Tebow.....Next comes news out of Mississippi, its the news conference with PP, Bumphis and some other guy who I could care less about....Bumphis and the other guys says they are going to State to ring cow bells.....PP looks them in the eyes in disbelief and say I am going somewhere to make a difference....He announces for Alabama!!!!....we all here in the Tide Nation go wild again as we don't know how much more our hearts can take......then Surfer comes on line with some news about our biggest recruits yet in Massie and Stinson .....he was so nervous when he posted it even his typing was shaking....BET, Airborne Tider and LCN chime in to say they told us so..lol....Some TNRC fan pops up on the board and claims that Tana Patrick is going to announce for them....we all give him the proverbial middle finger and say we will wait to reply when it is official....Well Tana announced alright, but for the opportunity to wear that crimson jersey and that CJW was an important factor in his decision.........needless to say we didn't see on snaggle tooth TNRC fan anymore that day...and the Barn continued to burn down...as the days along, Lacey signed his LOI as projected by all the smart people on the TF......last but absolutely not least, RR is in front of the camera ready to make his decision.....he picks up the Alabama hat, he picks up the LSU hat....he looks at both of them, then......he looks into the camera and says, I don't know where I am going.....I will let you know at a later date ala tOSU QB..........what a day, I sit back like a kid at Christmas dreaming of the championships to come and continued burning of the Barn regime.......and waiting for spring practice to get hereNow that is my perdiction of Nick Saban Day, I hope everyone likes it..lol:biggrin:

There was a posted article on this site a few days ago that stated that Nick Saban asked his COMMITTED players not to take visits to Tennessee. They could take any visit they wanted, just not Tennessee, and from my memory all told CNS they won't take trips to Tennessee. So that info is definately incorrect. Besides I don't see TR lying to CNS face, saying he wouldn't take a trip to Tennessee, then go behind CNS's back take a trip to Tenn? Can you see that scenerio? Anyways, I believe TR is taking an official to FSU this weekend.

I have it narrowed down to eight.
I just choose 7 for the poll and had trouble choosing between Patterson and Myles. Looking at interest and how good each is I was blown away by how well Patterson played in the all-star game he played in. I ask myself is he interested in Alabama. I turned on my computer and it showed Alabama I was happy. If we could get him and Kelly that would make up for not getting Randle.
We need all Alabama guys for sure Kirpatrick, Kelly, Patrick, and Moore.
My number five is Lacy Saban is going to be the South's version of the USC Trojans in how he loads up with RB/TB/HB/FB.
Stinson is all but a lock for us at this point. LSU will not get them all.
Massie I was not a fan of his at all. I hope he comes to AL over Georgia. I had Morgan Moses over him. What scares me about him is he could go anywhere.
Last but not least Patterson. Like I said earlier in the post. Would be of great compliment to the team.
Randle is like Tebow leading AL around by the nose when you know he will not leave home. It will be okay because Alabama is loaded at the WR position.
Myles has not proven himself plus he has visited eight schools and not narrowed in down his choices.
Bumphis was one of my favorites but enjoy losing at a school that will never win. They are mediocre at best. The reason they beat Alabama is because Shula was the coach and the players did not buy into Saban as there coach. Now they have and it is remarkable. Old habits are hard to break. I know Alabama lost to Florida and Utah.
I still say QB play was mediocre this year. I was JPW biggest critic. He almost lost the LSU game for us. I know if our line is okay and we have a better QB skys the limit.
This is my last statement for this post. People wonder why Alabama was struggling in the 06-07 seasons. Probation killed us and we are finally playing catchup to everyone.
I believe we will win the west in 09, but our line is going to have to growup in the offseason. I hope our QB position is better, but we played so many close games we could not get McElroy in many games. Jackson will be a great backup for him. We should have a better defense. We are losing only two players due to graduation.

That is a pretty bizarre statement as Darren is a high priority target . He's considered to be one of the nations top FS prospects . Also , Myles was selected to play in this years recent Under Armour AS game and he will have no problem qualifying .
This is how I feel about Myles and his importance to the "09 class ....

I'm going to stick with the following I posted earlier:
Dre Kirkpatrick--- I'm sure he 100% to Bama. He's enjoying the recruiting game right now.
Kendall Kelly--- Same thing with KK, pretty sure he was filling out in the cold a little bit with all of the late interest in PP and RR but I'm sure he signs with us in the end.
Bobbie Massie--- Interesting recruitment saga, I'm believing there's a 80% chance we'll land him. Will be a great addition of a great class.
Tana Patrick --- Believe he's a 100% lock as well. Will be one of the great LB to come out of UA when it's all said and done.
Brandon Moore --- I'm sure he's loving the attention from UF but will end up with BAMA when it's all said and done as well.
Ed Stinson --- Not putting too much stock into the LSU visit over the weekend. I believe he's solid to us.
Darren Myles --- With the new developments of LSU losing out to one of their recruits at safety, this will get interesting up to NSD. Think it's 50/50 in favor of the Tide.
Pat Patterson --- Same thing with Ole Miss putting on the full court press down the stretch, I won't blame him if he chooses to stick with an upcoming program in-state. But I do believe we have a good shot gaining his signature.
Eddie Lacy sign and place --- 100% BAMA. Still may come down to a sign in place, but if he qualifies, we'll have the best backfield corps in the SEC, and arguably the whole NCAA.
Notes on Commits and others:
Trent Richardson --- I think TR will stick with Bama as well in the end. If for some reason he decides to switch to UF, I wish him the best but will be ....ed off to no end with Meyer for stunting that young man's career tho. CUM knows good'n well he's not going to put TR into his offense. I truly believe what some are saying that it's all about making sure he doesn't lose the state's top commit and a out of state program coming in and laying down tracks.
Ruben Randle: I know there's still a chance with this young man but still don't see him leaving La. Would love to have him, just don't see it that happening though. If he does come, though. We'll definitely have the best O in the SEC.
Greg Reid: I'm sure he's not coming here. Great to see us in consideration with him but I think we waited too late with him.
Sam Montgomery: There's been some late mention of us trying to focus on him since LSU may be losing ground. Don't see that one as well.
All and all this class will solidify the talent we were able to bring in last year setting us up for NC contention for at least the next 3-4 years. The success of next year's class will make it even longer.

I was wrong about Darren Myles JR. You are not in the Top 250 doing nothing. I looked at his stats and he is #133. I have not followed him as much as the rest. I would love to see all the teams in the top 10 in recruting be scared we could get up to 9 players minus Rueben Randle We could end up from 25-30 players. Add that to last years Saban has showed NSD= Nick Saban Day in Alabama.
Man, this stuff changes by the hour I swear. (Smile)
When I posted that, I was reading reports about LSU's situation. Now we have on another thread that UT may heavily be in the mix. All I know is, I'm going to reserve my thoughts for NSD. (smile) I do believe we still have a good shot at getting him though.

RTO, Surf, BET, LCN, SIP: Best guess on Pat Patterson's current state of mind?
I "think" it's Alabama, but it's hard for me to say whether or not that's just homerism on my part or if I have a valid reason for believing it. I was thinking the same thing with Massie a few days back, and we all saw how that one turned out. Hopefully this one breaks the same way.
I will say this, though, if Patterson does go to Ole Miss, there are going to be an awful lot of Alabama people who are very surprised by it. Just doing a head count of the Alabama people who have gone on board saying Patterson will come to Alabama, there is... myself, CS, LCN, Tider Insider, RBR, BOL, the better posters at 'BamaMag, and the better posters at TideSports.
Pretty much every reputable 'Bama opinion I have found out there thinks we get Patterson, so if we don't there are going to be a lot of disappointed Alabama fans.
