I dont know about two 200+ games for Mark, but Colt did put on a show in a hostile environment last night.Unless McCoy is completely awful against Nebraska he wins. IMO Mark would have to have back to back 200+ yards against AU and UF to realistically have a chance to close the gap on McCoy.
Sheez. McCoy put up his usually inflated numbers against, yet again, a pitiful Big XII defense.
As for "closing the gap" on McCoy, Ingram is leading just about every random Heisman poll in the country right now by actual voters. (see Heisman pundit, for instance).
Granted, Ingram will need to have a big day today and especially in the SECCG, no doubt about it. But if you saw the aTm-Horns game last night, it was, yet again, more horrible defense and an air show by both teams.
Should Texas face Alabama or Florida in the BCSCG, this stat-driven, inflated offense will be shut down by a top-tier SEC defense.
I think a lot of us are trying to err on the side of caution when it comes to the Heisman. We've never won one so we don't want to believe it's a real possiblity. I think the award is Ingram's to lose. What he does today and against UF determines who wins it. I don't think it's in McCoy's hands right now.
I'm not erring on anything. McCoy was just responsible for about 500 yds of total offense last night on national TV in a rivalry game.........
I picked Ingram and I'll tell you why.....
1. Not b/c I am a homer
2. Ingram "should" have a big day today with the depth problems at AU
3. Ingram will be one of the biggest reason we beat FL "IF" we beat FL
4. Cornhuskers actually play a little defense and have gotten better as the
season has progressed. I think they will limit Colt to an avg day the same
day Ingram "MAY" lead us to victory in the SECCG.
