He's getting it more in kill time.! But I think he should get more carries earlier in the game.

Because the coach is an idiot. Shawn dosn't get going until the 3rd & 4th quarter, He's a work horse. He'll beat a defense too death in the 2nd half, this coach don't understand that. That's what he did at Bama. Shawn dosn't get used to his potentcial. ( sorry for the spelling).

I think Holmgren owes the biggest part of his success to Bret Favre. He doesn't appear to be nearly the genius folks thought he was since he doesn't have Brett around anymore. He better hitch his wagon to Shaun or contemplate retirement.

Holmgren frankly hates him. His big ***** has always been that Shaun doesn't "take what the defense gives him." It's true that SA uses his instincts sometimes, when the hole isn't there. There's some truth in saying that a great running back can't be coached - at least not by Holmgren. I'd love to see Shaun traded somewhere east, where he'd play before my bedtime...

Shaun is a back that continues to get better the MORE carries he has. it's obvious Holmgren doesn't get that! He proved it on that last drive. i sure wish he'd get traded to a team close to alabama. He won't get the attention he deserves way out in Seattle, he had a pro bowl year imo.

RTR!

He averaged less than 20 carries a game for the regular season.

If I were Wayne Weaver, I probably wouldn't have time to be on this board right now. However, if I were, had the time, and was here to read this thread,

I'd give 'em Fred Taylor for Shaun any day!

Ya'll have that elephant size day, and Roll Tide.

NFL games regardless of where they are played are played at the same times every week: 12 Noon, 3:15 PM, and 7:30 PM Central Time on Sunday. And, 8:00 PM Central Time on Monday. The one exception is after college football season ends when a few games are played on Saturday-like today.

Seattle has always been a hard place to win. I would love to see Shaun in a uniformfor my Cleveland Browns...yes I know we have some ugly uniforms but lord do we need him after the William Green debacle this year ! Roll Tide and Go Dawg Pound !

BamaRedemption I am a Browns fan, too,(Dad was a high school teammate and neighborhood buddy of Lou Groza.) I wish they would get more Tide players on the team. I think Michael Myers is the only one we have right now. I would love to have Shaun at rb, but the pitiful offensive line would not afford many opportunities to utilize his talents. I am ready for 2004-2003 has been one of the most disappointing of my life. RTR

I'm a long time Redskins fan, I hate to say it but he would shine with the cowboys. He would have been a good fit with Marty S. at Washington, but not with Steve S. The Big Tuna would have him Rolling Big Time.

The Seahawks OL is finally starting to look decent. That first year he was there, they couldn't have been much worse. Nobody knows better than Shaun that "Leon can't do it all."

Going into the final game of the season, Shaun ranked 6th in the NFL in total number of carries. That puts him ahead of several major stars like Priest Holmes, Stephen Davis, LaDainian Tomlinson, and Clinton Portis. Furthermore, he has also caught 42 passes to this point. Bottom line, Shaun is getting the ball plenty. He is definitely not being neglected.

Being stuck here in the great NorthWET and slimy Seattle, I have seen all 16 Seahawks games and every carry SA has had this year (on the tube). SA gets the ball plenty. Coach Mike gets the ball to him frequently. He also has a smaller back, Morris, faster than SA, from Oregon, who spells SA. The QB for Seattle is throwing the ball well this year and SA gets the ball on pass plays also. While the Hawks have a decent OL, they have struggled many times this year. That translates to SA having several games where he had high carries, low yards. Or, in a game he might have like 15 carries for 45 yards until he breaks one for 25 or 30 and gets the ave up there better. He has had a good season. His one problem that I have seen this year is, that he is slow to the corner on sweeps. Those plays are usually designed for Morris. He is quicker and turns the corner faster than SA. SA has had several sweeps where he gets no gain or knocked down in the back field. He is much stronger up the the gut between the tackles. Overall he has had a good season. The O has played well at times, but the D has had several very bad games resulting in blowout losses. I don't think they get by the Packers Sunday in Green Bay. The Pack blew them out there earlier this season.

Shawn's the only real offensive star they have in Seattle. They don't feed him enough, a big fast strong guy like that you gotta feed him and feed him and in the 4th the other teams gonna pay, we rode that train to an SEC title and should have been better were they properly coached.

Holmgren is a moron. Shawn should be traded back East where we know how to use a good running back.

I'd love to see him go to the Titans...Eddie George has outlived his usefulness, and we could use a good back like Shaun...I think Chis Brown is gonna be decent, but I'd love to see Alexander or Lewis come to Tennessee to give us that running game we used to have

Holmgren's offensive game plan is opposite of many. He has stated that he uses the passing game to open up the running game as opposed to using the running game to establish the passing game.

This probably cuts down on Shaun's carries somewhat - for instance they blew out arizona early in the year like 38 - 0 and Shaun only had 14 carries.

On area where I think Holmgren has handcuffed Shaun to an extent this year is he really doesn't like Shaun hitting it to the outside when there is no hole in the middle. Really pounded that home in the off-season and that is why Shaun (IMO) hit it up in the middle this year many times when it looked like there could be something to the outside. I think if you have a back who can create, let him do so but that may be why I am a Geologist and not a coach (g).
