Why Don't We Do A Tidefans Pre-Season Top Ten???

1- OU-This is preseason and right now they have far less question marks than we do.

2-Alabama-Best defense in the country, possibly the best RB, possibly the best OL, and absolutely the best coach.

3-Oregon-Yes, they lost to Auburn, but they return alot, and don't exactly have a rough schedule.

4-LSU- If the rumors about Jefferson are true, then they may be the best team in the country. Just as talented as us, but as good a coach as Les is, known to cost one or two.

5-TCU- One of the most underrated coaches in the country, guy has them playing good football every season.

6-Nebraska- I think Nebraska will have a very good season this year.

7-Stanford- Andrew Luck is just that freaking good.

8- FSU- Jimbo Fisher learned from the best, won't be long.

9- Texas- To much talent to falter again in my opinion.

10- Arky- Going to get slaughtered in their SEC Opener, but will win 9 or 10 games.

1. Oklahoma - They have a lot of talent and should prosper with the Big 12 minus 2

2. Alabama - If our our young QB's can grow up fast and we stay healthy, this could be another magical year

3. LSU - Our battle with them in November should decide the west (and if neither falters elsewhere) I would put the winner in the NC game

4. Oregon - Returns talent, speed, and PAC-10 plus 2 schedule always helps

5. TCU - Favorable schedule/conference, very good coach, and the BCS will put them in a big bowl if they win

6. FSU - Jimbo has recruited very well, has some talent returning, and the ACC schedule will help give them a shot

7. Stanford - Andrew Luck can carry this team again and the PAC-10 plus 2 gives them a shot for another good season even with a new coach

8. Arkansas - If they can play defense, I honestly think they can finish 10-2 in the regular season

9. Nebraska - They will quickly learn to love the ole Big-10 schedule...if their offense can improve, they will be in the mix

10. South Carolina - If Spurrier can find a QB (Garcia or not), their defense will keep them in a lot of games and I really don't see who else will beat them in the east, they will more than likely make a return trip to ATL in December

For those putting Texas in your top 10, remember Mack got new coordinators this off-season. They'll have some adjusting to do.

Texas has a lot of questions for sure, but they're totally loaded talent wise and Mack isn't going to follow 5-7 with anything less than an outstanding year in my opinion.

I completely agree. You don't recruit as well as Texas and have consecutive bad years. He was coming off having one of the better QB's in the school's history, you had to expect a down year. This season I look for them to play Bama's style of offense(run it down their throats). If you look at the backs on last seasons team and then the ones they have been recruiting, it would certainly appear that way.

problem is though, since jamaal charles they've had big name recuits at running back and have thoroughly underutilized them....

here's mine

1 Oklahoma- easy schedule and great skill players

2 Bama- defense and running game will get us in the conversation.

3 Oregon - They'll probably go undefeated or 1 loss. (great matchup for us IMO)

4 Nebraska- I just have a hunch. Bo is a darn fine football coach.

5 FSU - A lot of talent, and a weak ACC.

6. LSU- based solely on top 3 talent. tho I dont believe the Jefferson chatter. if it walks like, talks like, smells like, feels like homerism.... its homerism

7. TCU- Theyre going to have another great year. they'll show Boise how to play real football in the Mountain west before they make their exit.
.
8. Wisconsin - They'll be the only thing close to Nebraska in the Big Twe..n

9. Florida- Too Much Talent. end of story.

10. Arky- Thought about stanford here, but i think harbaugh had a lot to do with their consistency and success. Losing a great football coach should be worth a few losses.

1) Oklahoma. No serious question marks anywhere.
2) Alabama. Uncertainty at QB is the only impediment to being #1.
3) Texas A&M. Lost an all-world LB but most of a very good team returns.
4) LSU. If they can find an offense, they could run the table.
5) Arky. They can beat any team in America not named LSU or Alabama.
6) Mich. State. Best of Big Ten; lots of returnees. Still mad about CapOne Bowl.
7) Stanford. I bow to conventional wisdom that Andrew Luck is a miracle-worker.
8) Oregon. Return a lot of good players that played for the BCSCG last year.
9) Florida State. Survive Okie and the BCSCG is theirs. But they don't survive Okie.
10) South Carolina. Very dangerous team if Garcia can keep his head on straight.

At the end of the season it'll be Alabama and Texas A&M playing in the BCSCG.

1. Alabama - Bama vs LSU will decide SEC Champs and of course I take Bama and SEC Winner wins NC again
2. Oklahoma - Great Talent, by far best of a sub-par Big 12, don't take them #1 cause don't have a great RB
3. LSU - Very good team but knowing Les Miles he will make some last second stupid decisions and cost them 1 or 2 games
4. Boise St. - Return the most efficient QB in the nation
5. Nebraska - Will win Big 10 in 1st season
6. Oregon - Best team in a mediocre Pac 12 league
7. Florida St. - Jimbo Fisher has done an outstanding job in one year and in recruiting, they lose 1 game for sure (Oklahoma) and maybe 1 more
8. Arkansas - Now that Petrino has his players in his system he will continue to be a big player in the SEC, great receivers will help young QB and very good RB
9. Wisconsin - The only other team in the Big 10 that could give Nebraska a scare.
10. Oklahoma St. - The best QB-WR tandem in the nation

Their offensive line better in improve A LOT if they are going to run the ball at all. It was a glaring weakness last year..

The thing that's scary for Oregon is much what we faced last season. They lost a ton of expereience on defense.

As good as their offense was last season they still won a couple of games with defense.

I ranked them but it was with some reluctance. I think Stanford or maybe even USC will challenge them for the Pac-10 title.

That ought to stir the pot some. Not sure you shouldn't have kicked us up a notch or two being the QB play may be the only real question but your post, sure like to hear why Bama at #8! ;)
