They shove a microphone in somebody's face and ask complex, leading questions.
Sometimes they will surprise the person with information that he didn't know, or couch the question in terms that skew the answer. Being comprised of legions of anonymous "reporters", they will ask the same question qualified in different ways.
"Are you staying"? "Are you going"? Then they will ask it over and over and over again.

I'll never forget some reporter shoving a microphone in Paul McCartney's face and telling him John Lennon had been killed. A lot of people criticised McCartney's initial response (that's a drag) as being somehow insufficient.

Spurrier IS just an ole ball coach. Sure, no one was running quite as much three, four, and five wide as Florida was running at that time. It was innovative at the time to run some of that five wide stuff on first and second down in the first and second quarter. Before Spurrier, the only time you saw five wide was on the "Hail Mary". Now, some schools hang their hats on that stuff.

S.O.S is no "Evil Genius" (sorry UT fans). He IS just an Ole Ball Coach. He is pretty good at deflecting stupid questions in a press conference. I remember his classic "we can't even line up on the football" in response to a question about his offense in one particular game.
