Wimp doesn't think Gallion will win.

I heard on Finebaum the other day that Gallion said he won't settle unless the NCAA apologizes to RC, IW, *and* The University. Of course, that probably means he won't be settling at all.

I agree. I wasn't referring to Gallion's suit tolling the statute. The transcript from the hearing indicated to me the University had sufficient facts at that time. Not to mention what Bobo wrote in his appellate brief.

Lawyers talk big, but the ultimate decision is RC and IW's NOT Tommy Gallion's.

'92, I agree. The point of tolling would be the earliest point in time at which UA knew, or reasonably could have known, that fraud had taken place, so it's ticking now. Of course, Gallion, et al., will cave when the offer gets high enough, but I'd be willing to bet that some PR price will be demanded of the NCAA also. What that price will be, and what the $$ will be, will depend on what continues to be developed. I'm looking for the first sign out of the NCAA, the first eye blink, that they are beginning to realize their downside. So far, it's a bunch of academics and bureaucratic hacks blowing smoke. At some point, well short of trial, the outside counsel will have to sit down with them and break the news of just where J-meier and Fulmer have left them. Right now, their asses are showing and they're wondering where the breeze is coming from...
