I have a friend that was having severe headaches. She finally went to the doctor and discovered she was basically a ticking time bomb and could have died. She had surgery about 3 or 4 years ago and is alive and well. I never asked her if she had headaches after sex though. I will be sure to ask next time we talk. Frequent headaches are nothing to just ignore.

A true thunderclap headache that is severe is a huge red flag. It always warrants a visit to the ER. Same for the worst headache of your life bar none severe headache. Put them together and you best not ignore it.

Frequent or increasingly frequent headaches always warrant a visit to your healthcare provider. Same for other changes in the "quality" of your headaches. These can be warning signs as well.

Sorry for the PSA, just wanted to put the focus on the headaches since the sex was not the most important part of the story.
