Would you prefer Lane Kiffin to coach Bama over KD?

I think CLK has matured some at Ole Mis.

I don't hold Lanes past against him.
I say this because I was a drunk who changed his ways.
I have been sober for going on 7 years now.
If I can do it, so can he.
I want to see what Lane does at LSU. I don't hold his mouth against him. It's a Steve Spurrier thing.
Lane is a scumbag. And I do NOT think he has matured at Ole Miss. The entire way he left, demanding that his entire O staff follow him, and demanding that he be allowed to coach the playoffs has cemented his scum bag-ness in my mind.

There's a reason the PTB at Alabama will never let him come back. And that was just because of his actions at Bama.

As far as the sober thing, well done, brother. I hit 20 years at the end of May. I would never hold past addiction against anyone. But that's not the reason I feel so strongly anti-Kiffin. There are many ways he could have handled this. Between his mouth and ego, he chose the worst possible way to leave. He burned a bridge he was standing on and showed his true character.

Screw that guy.

Strictly on field production kiffin MIGHT be a better coach and MAYBE a better game day coach and would almost assuredly be a better recruiter but he’s a sleaze and behaves like a narcissist. Just based on how he behaves and who he is I’d rather not have him attached to anything I care about. All this is before you even consider the Joey freshwater stuff which from what we know was a mere matter of months from statutory. He can say he’s changed but in my life experience narcissistic people don’t change they just mask better. As someone else said he’ll leave lsu high and dry and completely cratered the second he has enough success to interest nfl teams

Oh but the lane defenders keep saying “where is the proof for the public to see.” Or “yall insiders are just making stuff up because yall don’t like him”. But here is the definitive proof

Lane not only is burning down Ole Miss, but taking recruits and his starting players to LSU.

He has been and always will be the lowest of the low.
According to the latest reports (for however much you can believe them) his offensive staff, with the exception of a couple of people , are stating at Ole Siss and according to a tweet by one of the players the team, for the most part, is staying put at Ole Siss.
Take that for what it's worth.
Now, to answer the question, I don't want him at Alabama for a lot of reasons.

I’m telling you the second a gamble on 4th and 5 on his side of the 50 or some crazy call happens Alabama fans would lose their minds over Kiffin. I’m still reminded at how many Bama fans wanted to absolutely crucify him after Ohio State for not running Derrick Henry and constantly trying to force Blake Sims to win the game.

DeBoer has his own issues to overcome but his seem to be 90% personnel issues at this point. Yeah I was mad at Grubb last night, but we did what we needed when we needed it. But he seriously needs to stop the Ken Whisenhunt crap of just having to throw a gadget play in for a gadget play sake. I honestly think had we went up 20 or 24 to zero then Auburn would’ve laid down.

And not to throw shade at Nick Saban but I honestly think he never understood the rivalry and that was a huge reason for struggling down in Auburn. It just means way more to them and they get John Cena strength when we play them down there. I think Deboer knew he needed to go for a knockout blow or force them to go 90 yards if it failed whereas Saban would’ve 100% kicked the FG and probably would’ve gotten into a crazy overtime game with them having all the momentum.

DeBoer is our coach and people need to stop wanting Kiffin. It’s like wanting Angela Jolie when you got Jennifer Aniston.
The Barn wanted Freeze for years and look how well that turned out. Maybe they a learned because their other dream coach (Petrino) is available and they didn't hire him.

Absolutely not haha how would one even quantify mights and maybes?
Thank you.

The reality is DeBoer has a better record in almost any measure vs Kiffin. Kiffin has made enough big splashes that people overlook his idiot moves (of which there are plenty, both on and off the field), so it tends to cloud judgement. Not necessarily yours, just using the post as a spring-board.

Isn't that exactly what Brad Pitt did?

Yes, but it looks like Brad Pitt likes crazy women. Somehow, I think the Crazy Hot Matrix applies to hiring football coaches too...

With this current example Kiffin is akin to the ‘Red Headed Tammy’ from a Salon who keys your car after a breakup and then asks ‘can we still be friends’.

Clear Stay Away from him in the future signals going on now.

I think CLK has matured some at Ole Mis.
I also think CLK is a great Offensive mind.
If CLK can mature more at LSU he could turn out to be someone I'd see as a possible future hire.

For years Lane has made no bones about Alabama being his dream job.

CLK may have slowed down some at 50, at least I think he has.
I don't hold Lanes past against him.

Yes, we hear all the time that Coach So And So's dream job is (name of school).

And except for Lou Holtz leaving Minnesota for Notre Dame, it pretty much never happens.
Or if it does, it blows up.

To paraphrase Churchill:
Never in the field of college football has so much been credited to someone who has done so little.

"Whoa, he turned Ole Miss around!"

Yes...concurrent with the dumpster fire on the Plains and what SHOULD be one of the most solid programs in the country (LSU) in constant "schizophrenic on amphetamines" mode. And without having to beat Alabama.

How do I loathe Lane, let me count the ways:
- His off-the-field Joey Fishwater persona
- I thought his "lifting my arms to celebrate Amari wide open" was classless and stupid, and while I many be old, there was a time when the vocal Tide fans would have felt the same way
- he's a bona fide member of the Lucky Sperm club who kept getting jobs because of his name
- 2016, I need say no more
- the fact he's the only guy in history to twice get passed over for......Ed Orgeron......I mean, that's like passing over Kate Upton (visually appealing at least) for Alex Forrest (Glenn Close in "Fatal Attraction")
- his entire career success has been being attached to someone else (USC's title run, Alabama) UNTIL NOW, and he's lighting matches and pouring gasoline on it

I don't understand how so many of you refuse to see that this guy is the personification of the WORST INSTINCTS of every post-Bryant coach without success. He has the arrogance of Perkins, the leaving at the doorstep of success of Bill Curry, the commitment to continuity of Dennis Franchione and the off-the-field mindset of Mike Price.

I won’t lie: with what his trajectory appeared to be in regards to his maturity I wouldn’t have minded him coming to Tuscaloosa if things had gone awry for CKD.

After this weekend I hope the state troopers pull him over, flatten his tires, bust his headlights, and leave him on the side of the road in a spot with no cell service.

He hasn’t changed, and I can’t wait for him to dry hump the governor’s daughters leg to prove it.

It’s ridiculous to me how short-sighted people are.

And how they continue to view Kiffin as if he’s ever won ANYTHING…

One thing Joey Freshwater excels at is getting fired during the season - if that counts as a positive he’s head and shoulders better than anyone else out there.
He continues to validate what a senile Al Davis was seeing when he was HC at Oakland, and that's really shocking. Al Davis was definitely a major player in the developing the NFL to where it is today, but at the time he brought out the overhead projector to discuss Kiffin, he was seen as an owner who needs to just be quiet, and let someone else handle the operations day-to-day.
