Derrick Woods says Bama is one of his top four favorites.

In Friday night’s league game against Culver City (Calif.), with Woods in at quarterback, Inglewood walked away with a 30-10 triumph over Culver City.

After their victory, Woods talks about the programs that have been paying him the most consistent attention. The four schools that have risen to the top of his list are, Oklahoma, USC, Alabama and UCLA.

Re: WR Derrick Woods Update

I talked to one of D Woods' close relatives and she highly doubts he will be heading to Bama.

That's OK, because we would love to have the kid because he is talented and heard he has a good head on his shoulders, but we have a bunch of guys that can fulfill that same role on the team.

Good luck to him, either way.

Re: WR Derrick Woods Update

eh, i'll believe it when i see it. we should definitely want the kid since we won't be landing DGB.

Who are our top remaining targets at WR?

Re: WR Derrick Woods Update

I'm not saying he's wrong, but in following the Bone for years, he is wrong a great deal of the time.....and usually not first to the news. But hope we get Woods. Roll Tide!!!!

Re: WR Derrick Woods Update

Derrick is taking the SAT Saturday morning. He's trying to graduate in December.

Re: WR Derrick Woods Update

Oklahoma is his favorite school, but I'm not sure if we land him because we want him at safety and he wants to play WR.

Andrew Bone in his chat today said that if UA wants Woods he is ours. FWIW

Well it appears that 'if' Bone was right that Alabama does not want Woods. ;) Woods is no longer including Bama among his favorites. I am removing him from the prospect list.

In terms of recruiting the four-star is still undecided and said Arizona, Arizona State, Oklahoma and USC are the four main contenders in his recruitment at this point. Alabama, Cal, Florida, Miami, Oregon, Stanford, UCLA and Washington are some other offers.

Woods was supposed to visit with the Sooners last weekend but he had to take the SAT so he's planning to reschedule his visit to Norman.

Does any one else feel like there is a ridiculous amount of very good 2012 prospects that all have bama as 1 or 2. How are we going to take these guys with only 6 spots?! I want to take them all. I hate this reduction in schollies!

Bama is hoping to take the cream of the crop with the final five or six slots available. I am guessing it will end up being a couple of DTs, one DE/Jack LB, one OT, a RB, a safety, and an athlete.

So are we looking at possibly Quay Evans/Eddie Goldman (couple DTs), John Jenkins (1 DE/Jack), Brandon Hill(1 OT), Barry Sanders or TJ (1 rb), landon collins (1 safety), and Cyrus Jones/Travell Dixon (1 athlete)?
That would be one heck of a finish!

Not to mention Denzell Devall or Dalvin Tomlinson. So many!
