Re: How Does Brandon LaFell's Leaving LSU for the NFL Affect Reuben Randle's Decision
When I was in college in the '70's, Signing Day was when recruits began committing to a school, they signed all spring, and every kid took his visits. Now the pressure starts in their Junior year and is relentless for 18-24 months. If Randle can block out all the distractions and take his time about making an important decision--well, good for him.
I don't know how modern blue-chippers deal with all the hype. With Rivals and Scout, recruiting boards like this one, and radio "experts" all hyping it up, it must be a major distraction in a kid's final year of high school football.i agree! in an interview today in the bastrop paper, RR said that he wished he knew where he was going now, so that he could get the recruiting process over with. he admitted that he hasn't had much "down" time since the recruiting season heated up.
