If this is true, it honestly would not surprise me. I hope he comes, but the guy is a homer. It doesn't take much of a sell to convince someone to stay with the place they played and coached into national prominence. Not to mention the place his wife went to school and was a cheerleader.

What will also not be surprising is how false hope/information has leaked to the Bama Nation. I've never sifted through so many rumors and outright lies as I have on the Web, newspapers and television news reports the last couple of weeks.

We'll just have to wait and see now I guess.

I can't confirm right from wrong, but if you or anyone believes that CRR spoke to that idiot at 1:30 in the morning last night at home and believe he story, I've got some ocean front property in B'ham to sell you. That story is so full of holes it is not funny.

For instance. In one part of the article he is quoting things CRR said and then just after it he says a source confirmed. Which was it...him speaking directly to CRR or a source?

What would CRR have to gain by calling a newspaper reporter at 1:30 in the morning and tell him that "Rita is in bed" and "we haven't even spoken about it as a family"? If you believe that CRR and his wife and family haven't been discussing this on the phone and when they've been together you're nuttier than Grape Nuts Cereal.

By the way, the Gazette sports site is now DOWN!

I think you are probably right, Alan. And most of the rumors in WV are probably wishful thinking after reading this article. We already know the press conference was bogus.
