Just wondering if you have a favorite? Since Firehouse Subs opened here in Mobile, they've had my business hands down!

I'm a huge fan of delis, especially NY style delis. Not all sell the tradtional submarine sandwiches on a loaf of french bread, but the sandwiches are none the less outstanding. One of my favorites in Chicago is Mannie's (sp) which is a Jewish deli. I can't finish one of their corned beef or pastrami sandwiches in one sitting.

I'll agree with Firehouse Subs. The best I have ever had, very generous with their meat & veggie. They also have a great Datil sauce they sell there. It's either sold under the "Firehouse" brand or as "Captain Sorensen's". They are the same sauce. Great on samiches.

I think I really like Firehouse because they "steam" their sandwiches.

Reminds me that we used to have a little hamburger joint here in Mobile called "The Rebel Queen" -- doubt if anyone (other than TommyMac) would remember it. They steamed their burgers -- delicious!

Firehouse Subs

I love the Italian Sub at Firehouse Subs, awesome, other than that I love the Steak Bomb at Stanleo's in Huntsville, a local sub shop.

BTW, don't put the.357 mangnum hot sauce on a Firehouse sub, it literally popped a few of my remaining hairs off the top of my head...

Where in Mobile????

Where is the Firehouse Subs in Mobile?? I get to Mobile often and get by the Atlanta Bread Company occassionally, but so far, it's one of the better ones that I'VE gone to. Hey, I'm willing to try a new place, but need to know where it's located. So, give up the address and maybe they'll get some new customers.

Bamanet: The two that I know of are as follows: 1) Cottage Hill & Schillinger Road -- in the Winn Dixie shopping center, and 2) Hillcrest and Grelot also in the Winn Dixie shopping Ctr.

Thanks!!

I'll have to give them a try when I go back to Mobile. I know where those streets are so they won't be too much trouble to find. Glad to know there are people out there who can find these places and let the out of towners know about them through this site. Drumming up business here can only help their business survive.

That sure jogs my old memory banks, but I can't remember where it was located. I wanna say on Sage Avenue or nearby or in the Crichton area.

T-Mac: If I remember correctly, it was off Old Shell Road near Sage Ave. or Florida St. I know there was a fire station almost across the street. I think it was a hang-out for folks that went to Murphy HS.

the "Country Club" at Jimmy John's on the strip is good. For a meatball, I like Firehouse. For a turkey, I like Schlotszky's. Hmmm....I'm torn! :)

Gotcha, that was fire station #11. They did have great burgers, milk shakes too.

Firehouse Subs

I was in Mobile this past Sat. and as we were driving out of the road that Home Depot is on, I noticed a Firehouse Subs place directly across Airport Blvd. I think it's the entrance to Yester Year Apartments, but not sure. Anyway, it's nice to see one so close to Home Depot since we seem to spend a lot of time there. Now, we can hop over and try out those deli sandwiches that some of you recommended. Hope they are as good as the ones in the other locations you described.
