Corruption in college football? The conference going for the big payouts?

I have noticed that no one has said the int would have changed the outcome of the game. It did, however, change the margin of victory to Alabama covering the spread. Ya think a lot of whiners are unhappy because it personally cost them ?

I wouldn't put it past that, most of it I think is sour grapes.

Slander much?

A lot of these bloggers better watch their backs for lawsuits. Writing slanderous articles about illegal practices with no facts is a recipe for disaster. If the SEC wants to come out clean, they better nip these guys in the bud.

I'd like to add that I'm proud of our fan base for not stirring this pot over the last 10+ years. Every time there was a bad call against us (and there were plenty!) we got angry, upset, irate, and furious, but we never claimed "conspiracy."

To the rival fans who frequent this board, it's your job to help calm your fanbases and quell the rumors. We appreciate what you bring to the table, and like myself, I'm sure you don't want to see the SEC implode. But when talks of cheating, scandals and impropriety reach a fever pitch, something gotta give.

Sure there have been bad calls this year, I've said as much and even started a thread about what could be done to get better refs on the field. But most rational people will see that the bad calls have gone both ways. If there were a conspiracy, don't you think we wouldn't get any bad calls against us? But we've had several each game. We've got to put an end to the conspiracy talks once and for all. And stirring the pot isn’t doing anything but making our conference look worse.

Some Cheese to go with their whine.

Red, how much of it is jealousy at Bama after what Saban has been doing? I think some of it might be a bit of jealousy.

I think all of it is jealousy. When we were down our enemies had nothing to be jealous of. Now that we are "back" they must find something to make themselves feel better about the direction our program is headed.

Mr brother in law who is a UGAG grad started talking some smack. I just told him to enjoy his trip to shreveport or Memphis. I think your right on the mark.

It's hilarious how people laughed at Bama fans when some talked about this 'cinspiracy' to 'get us', yet now are all in with the conspiracy theory when they're on the 'short end of the stick'.

You can't have it both ways.

I'm not RedStar, but I certainly think there is a degree of that particularly with our closer rivals like LSU, AU, and UT. Ultimately, though fans are going to skew their view to fit their own team agenda when the call doesn't go their way and frankly some of these calls are either just bad or could go either way, leaving it open to question.
But a lot of people in the media and independant bloggers are using this to blow the SEC officiating mistakes out of proportion because they're sore their team lost, and it only serves to make the situation worse.
Its not like the officiating all of sudden got bad. Its been bad. But the internet gives both fans and idiots alike a public venue to vent and it has increased the scrutiny on the refs. Some of it is certainly going over the line, and this has reached that point, imo.

Wow. This seems a clear case of an educated writer letting his emotions get the best of him. Reading this type of baseless diatribe may be cathartic for an LSU fan, but the writer's credibility would ultimately be better served if he took a couple of days to cool down, then pen something rational.

Oh, and by the way, if it weren't for a REAL giant bad call that the SEC actually acknowledged, LSU would have lost to a slumping UGA squad.

I'm not RedStar...

You're not? :conf2: ;)

It's got to eat other fanbases alive when they try so long and so hard to fight their way to the top of the mountain and all we have to do is hire the right coach. Some of them couldn't be any more jealous, or envious of our success. It's sad really.

Alabama is one of those jobs, along with Oklahoma, Texas, Florida, USC, etc., where the only thing you need is the right coach. We don't have to convince kids to come play for us, we ask them to.

This guy mentioned that the SEC Office possibly uses "scheduling" to try and create a championship games scenario of their choice. Yeah right.

Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee and LSU in a four game stretch.

Definitely a scheduling conspiracy aimed in the Tides favor.

Gimme a break.

sip
