i love how there is no mention of the beating they took in 92. its like it didnt happen. it goes from best thing ever to probation. not to mention lamar thomas running his mouth for most of the show. why did i watch this? i need to vomit

What a bunch of self-indulgent crap.

I especially loved the segment about the nightclub incident. Where they were so proud to go get their guns.

re: The ESPN Special 30 & 30 about Miami Hurricanes

I watched it too, waiting for them to show the beat down we gave them.
As far as Lamar Thomas, I got him back for his trash talking last year at a U game, Check my post from last year:biggrin:

re: The ESPN Special 30 & 30 about Miami Hurricanes

I am right there with you! The "U" cheated, lied and stole their way to 4 of their 5 NC titles and act as if it is OK. I would cheer for the viles or the barn before I would waste my air cheering for the "U".
The 92 beat-down is still there in Lamar's mind and that is what makes me smile.

Just watched the whole thing. They are proud of their thievery and thuggery. I have never been as disgusted at a group of men as I was that group, praising some of the most disgusting behavior. Boasting about selling drugs, stealing, breaking NCAA rules, hurting players on other teams on purpose.

Disgusting. I kept waiting for the condemnation of the behavior, and it never came. I wish I had not watched it...

Alot of Viles fans are hoping that Kiffin is bringing the same kind of brashness and swagger.

re: The ESPN Special 30 & 30 about Miami Hurricanes

Notice how, in their minds, all their arrests and convictions were not their fault, it was all "media bias"? Always an excuse from a thug! They had a decade of winning, that's it. Not a tradition.

re: The ESPN Special 30 & 30 about Miami Hurricanes

What did you guys expect? It was directed by a Miami grad, who also seemed proud of every heinous thing they did. Lamar Thomas still remembers George Teague, you can count on that! :PDT_Aliboronz_25:

I watched it all too, about 30 mintutes in I told my wife "I bet they don't show the '93 game against us" well jolly gee they sure didn't.

Classless is all I can say.

"It's not MY fault the stadium had a tunnel I could run thru after a TD. Blame the architect." I wanted to puke. What is sad and the true injustice is the opportunity to be a positive influence the "mature" adults in the situation (coaches, AD, and alumni) crapped away. They really did let those young, impressionable men down. What happened to those players who didn't make it in the NFL?

re: The ESPN Special 30 & 30 about Miami Hurricanes

I remember how the Hurricanes came out an hour or so before the Sugar Bowl in '93 and started dancing around in front of a bunch of Alabama fans. Mark Caesar in particular was doing a lot of taunting.

During and after the game, I didn't see much dancing around by the Canes.

Miami pretty much overlooks that incident the same way Germany overlooks 1936-45. Its a blank page in their history books.

re: The ESPN Special 30 & 30 about Miami Hurricanes

Jimmy Johnson lost some respect in my book after watching that. I wasn't really suprised they didn't say anything about that whooping they took down in the Sugar Bowl.

He lost a lot of my respect too, if he ever had any. At one point he told them to just act the way you do, and he would handle the heat. So he pretty much coached them to act like that. I'm glad that era of college football is over.

WOW!! Watched the whole thing too. It's amazing at what they all got away with. We all knew they were thugs, but I never had a clue about all the drugs, partying, arrests, etc...... It seems when they cut all that out, THUG U wasn't as appealing.

Oh and I'm guessing they left out the Sugar Bowl becuase they were focusing on the 80's teams.
