2011 RB Propects

I don't know for sure....He is from Katy, TX so I am sure Saban and Co know about him. That team(or teams I am not familiar with the high schools there as I am sure you are) constantly has top recruits coming out every yr.. I do know this guy is on their radar......

Scout.com: Isaiah Crowell Profile

I think we may have some catching up to do though he likes GA since it his home state, also has said USC and TX have stood out to him. He hasn't been to T-town yet but has visited GA, of course, and LSU. The kid has about 20-25 scholarship offers from all over the country.

Running Backs in 2011

I know we really did not pursue/get a top rated RB in the 2010 class. Who are the guys we likely go after and possibly get in the 2011 class?

Re: Running Backs in 2011

It will certainly be a position of emphasis in 2011, but targets won't become more clear until the spring. However, there are a few names I've seen passed around.

Quan Bray - Hogansville, Ga.
Isaiah Crowell - Columbus, Ga.
Alonzo Harris - Gadsden, Ala.
Kenny Hilliard - Patterson, La.
Deion Walker - Matthews, N.C.

Anyone else seen Training Day? You're lucky I've got more pressing business......:)

Don't underestimate Jalston Fowler guys, I know he's considered to be more of a "combo" back, but the kid is a stud and should fit in very nicely with our offense.

Re: Running Backs in 2011

We will take two. Don't know which two, but I don't think Hilliard will be the one even though we want him.....

Re: Running Backs in 2011

I can guarantee you that Hilliard is going to LSU. He'll be a five-star recruit and we'll go after him, but there are way too many family ties to keep him from being a corndog. LSU would need to totally and completely implode -- circa 'Bama in 2000 with Cadillac -- for us to sweep in and get him.

At any rate, though, I do think we take two tailbacks in 2011. Right now I'm keeping my eye on Bray, Crowell, and Harris, but realistically though at this early of a stage everything is still extremely fluid.

Quite a few of these guys on the scene right now will fade away and drop off the radar screen, and a lot of guys will come out of nowhere to be highly-recruited prospects. Remember about sixteen months ago when a lot of people thought B.J. Chitty was going to be one of the top players in the state in the 2010 class, and no one had heard of Jalston Fowler? Things like that will happen again in 2011, too, so we'll see.

Exactly.

IMO we got a top rated back in the 2010 class. IMO it's possible Fowler could have earned a fifth star had he played this year.

Re: Running Backs in 2011

Has something happened to Lacey that I don't know about? No one seems to be mentioning him...

Nothing has happened to him other than he is redshirting this year learning the offense. He recently said he is looking forward to getting on the field next year.

Two big time Texas RBs Aaron Green and Malcolm Brown are being scouted by Bama. Hopefully we can get in on them.

Nope....Lacy is a MONSTER and WILL be splitting snaps with Ingram and Trent next season. I think a lot of us getting Trent was the promise of PT, hence why we put the red-shirt on Lacy. Not that I think Lacy is better than Trent it is just that we had Upchurch so why not put the red-shirt on him. Lacy is a very, very talented RB. Next yr will be CRAZY with Lacy in the rotation, be really, really hard for another Heisman from a RB next yr at BAMA....the STABLE is stacked like a Doc Holliday poker deck.
